If the polls continue to the trend when it comes to impeachment

How do the Democrats bail with minimal damage? Do they have a way out of this? This could lead to them losing the House. In their position what would you do?

Right now, I’d cut my losses. Be honest and admit there’s no real evidence of any wrongdoing. That would likely resonate a lot better.
But by their very nature they’re not honest people.
Articles of impeachment will go to the full House from committee on a straight party-line vote. And it will die there. They’ll have the holiday recess to provide cover.

Possibility they say they can impeach but know the Republicans won't hold a serious trial because they are corrupt.

They can’t back out or the far left members and voters will go crazy . They have to ride this out till Trump is gone or they loose the house.
