If Mayor Pete somehow wins the primary look out!

I don’t think he will but here’s something we all need to understand. Never forget many people voted for Obammy and knew nothing about his past personal life, his politics or his proposed political agenda.....they voted for Obammy because they wanted to be part of history, voting for the first minority to be elected POTUS.
The reason I mention this is I’m seeing a similar reaction to Mayor Pete from some of my less conservative friends and family. Most of these folks voted Obammy 2008/2012 and Trump 2016 but they still can’t stand Trump’s brash NYC DGAF attitude. When discussing who they would vote for from the Dim field it was Mayor Pete followed by Gabbard. I can tell you they know nothing of Pete’s political agenda but they really like his demeanor. I really think they would vote Pete to once again be part of history by electing the first gay president. I know my account is purely anecdotal but these people are pretty centrist politically and are not really into following politics on a daily basis.
I’m just saying don’t be surprised if Mayor Pete wins the Dim nomination he doesn’t give Trump a good run for the presidency.....there’s more people who will vote for Pete because he’s gay than against him.....it will be the hip thing to do.

Being gays doesn't provide the same armor that being black did.

Whole lot more african americans than gays, and as much as the white man/devil shite has been pushed for the last 4 years, african americans are a whole lot less about the gay lifestyle than whitey is. Pete and Bernie would both get destroyed in November.

True. Never underestimate how many Americans on a daily basis ignore politics but when the GE rolls around they’ll take the queue from the DimMedia on who to vote for. Wrong. He is one of the two candidates that CAN'T win a presidential election. No gay can win a presidential election running on the democratic ticket. FACT: African-Americans will NOT support a gay candidate, and a dim can't win without MAJOR A-A support.......do the math.
PS- the only problem is that the DNC knows that neither he nor Bernie can garner a majority in a national election. This country is about 20 years away from entertaining the possibility of a Socialist being elected President.

Booty Judge did much better than anyone expected and I think he would have a good shot against Trump, but I would be shocked if he won the nomination. Bernie is on a roll, Bloomberg is about to go jump in on Super Tuesday, and I don't think black democrats in the South or California are ready to vote for a gay man.

I don't understand the fascination with Buttigieg. He's the mayor of a city roughly the size of Lafayette, and the blacks and police in South Bend both hate his guts. He's managed to unite two diametrically opposed factions against him, and if it weren't for the idiots at Notre Dame voting for him, he would never have been in office.

My OP was based on a Saturday afternoon spent home brewing some beer followed up with craft beer drinking and BBQ. The political talk was minimal but it was clear Mayor Pete was the preferred Dim candidate from the folks who made their opinions known, they also liked Tulsi but she's done. I didn't hear anyone pimping for Bernie, Bloomberg or Slow Joe. I know for a fact that most of these people voted Trump 2016 because they were tired of Hilldawg's shenanigans. I asked one person why they would vote Mayor Pete in 2020 after voting Trump in 2016.....the answer, they can't stand Trump's behavior, personality and public demeanor.......they don't like the man not his job performance.
