The court needs to be 8-1 conservative to be fair.

Yes. Roberts cares about the court’s reputation and will likely be the swing vote now.

Libs don’t want to lose any seats on scotus. They want to use it to impose their policies, and every conservative judge appointed delays that goal.

The more conservative judges on the SCOTUS the longer they can’t legislate from the bench.

As of now they only have to "invite one conservative to the hunting lodge"

might be messier if they have to invite a couple

Would you rather be down one touchdown or two?

Because their new claim is to push it to 11 when they take control again. If the GOP get a 6th or 7th, we will still have the majority/swing vote.

A 6-3 conservative majority sounds worse to them than a 5-4 conservative majority. Clarence Thomas is getting up there in age and could retire within the next 10-15 years. We need one more to really sow it up for the next generation.

Thomas already said that he wanted Trump to pick his replacement

An important part is deciding what cases even get to be seen by the High Court. Usually it takes 4 votes for a case to be brought before the Court. Not only will markedly more conservative lower Federal courts be freer to not be reviewed by the Supremes, but the ability to push Left-Wing advocacy 'all the way to the Supreme Court' will be severely curtailed.

I’ve seen many suggest this, but what sense does that possibly make? You’ve used your years & years of judicial expertise to reach a conclusion on a case, but sense you wanna be fair to the libs, you throw them a few bones every now & then & vote with them?

If you're trying to come back and take the lead do you want to be one score down or two?

True Roberts shite the bed on that one and basically went along with it as a tax; something that it was denied it was by the people who rammed it through without reading it, or letting anyone else read it, and who sold it as not being a tax when they made media tours and in Congress when they voted on it...it was unconstitutional, but rigged it as a tax, and he let them get away with it. Not a fan of Roberts....

Um, he didn’t “went along with it”. He engineered it out of thin air. He fixed it for the Dems to make it “constitutional”.

Exactly.

Roberts is a fish to me. He is a coward and has no moral compass. He may as well go sit with RBG and Sotomeyer.
