Do you think the Democratic primary is essentially over? Biden has been in the top 2 in recent polling in the first 4 states and seems to have a lot of momentum at the moment.

Anyone winning all four had pretty much knocked out their competition.

Most funding dries up unless a candidate wins or finishes strong in Iowa and NH.

No it sets up to a showdown between him and Bloomberg. Depending on if the DNC wants to rig its rules again, then it will be over.

Biden, with all his warts, should be the candidate.

Entertaining anyone else is ceding the election to Trump.

It's not over until Hillary finally concedes. It might be a while considering she still hasn't conceded an election from 3 years ago.

Biden will be the nominee.

Eh I could see Biden offering Bloomberg a big role in his cabinet (State or Treasury) and Bloomberg taking that offer.

Has she missed some filing deadlines?

Also, the dem convention is going to be worth the price of admission.

If Joe Biden wins both NH and Iowa, it is over at that point. (I think Biden comes in 2nd in both those places but wins Nevada and SCarolina.) Bernie won't drop out but he'll have zero chance.

And Bloomberg will drop out as a candidate (if Biden does well) but allow his huge organization in every state to go on campaigning for Dems. Bloomberg is even building an organization on the ground in Louisiana of all places. No one is paying much attention to what Bloomberg is building but we all should. It is going to make a difference, IMO.

Does it even matter? At this point there is not a single D that can beat Trump.

Id love to know who's money he's spending and to what end. I know Mini Mike has a ton of money. But he didnt get all that money spending it frivolously. Dude has access to all sorts of information. he cant think he has a realistic chance so why essentially light a few hundred million on fire?

I hope ultimately thats what all the Ukraine business is about. Truly finding the source of all the dark money in our politics.

Not until 2nd round. If someone has the nom going into the convention they win. If they don't have enough delegates then the Super Delegates pick the winner.

Although I think the Super Delegates would pick Biden. The whole point of the Super Delegates was to stop the party from picking a left wing loon.

This whole impeachment thing is cover to get Biden the nomination quickly and to possibly protect the current balance on SCOTUS.

Think about it the Democrat power structure will have Bernie, Lizzie and Amy out of commission if they get their way and have witnesses and produce a prolonged shitshow. The miss key campaign time in NH, IA and SC for starters. They are not worried about Buttigieg or Yang or Bloomberg at this juncture

Bernie nor Mayor Pete would have any chance in a nat'l presidential election anyway...and that's why the DNC will never let it happen.

So basically they should be there to keep anyone currently running from getting elected, got it.

Bloomberg is behind the scenes helping Biden bankrupt the other candidates by buying up all the advertising spots at super inflated prices right now. The other candidates are all having difficulty buying ads which is benefitting Biden.

I think Mike might be setting himself up to become the Koch Brothers of the center-left (and don’t forget he owns the news/data platform that large portions of American business runs on) — and to make that happen he needs Biden to win in the fall.

I mean Bloomberg is 78 and worth $60B. I don’t know what his play is, but he has an endless war chest to play his hand with. From an election point of view, maybe he sees himself as the guy Dems turn to if something happens to Biden that makes him unelectable.
