.........that doesn’t involve a ludicrously long over land route that crosses the Bering Strait.

Something involving party train tech proposed by the gap band in the 80’s

Way ahead of their time, like Tesla (the guy not the band)

Well technically the shortest route is over the Bering Strait... that’s why most flights east go over Alaska and why logistic services have hubs there.

Just sayin

Train ferry. The journey will take 20+ days instead of 20+ hours, but that is time that the passengers can use to reeducate themselves on social justice and political correctness.

The shortest route is through the Earth.

Never work under any circumstance. The Pacific is to seismically active. Not to mention Super Typhoons.

I think you could line up a bunch of air craft carriers since they're like really really big and just lay the track across them. Bonus: because they are already boats, they would just move with the ocean like riding the waves or they could be re-routed around bad weather.

Totally a win.

Maybe we could put wings on the trains and have them fly? They'll be heavy so we'll need long runways to give them enough room to get airborne. We will have to train the conductors to be able to fly, something like our fighter pilots but a civilian position. Separate passengers and their larger luggage to be efficient.

Yea, I really think that could work.

No such thing. If money were no object it’s just a matter of engineering.
