McCarthy has tons of responsibility now. He’s got to manage people well. He’s got to coordinate messaging well. He’s got to get wins in the eyes of Republican voters. Senate possibly staying even is a huge win for Democrats. That means more left leaning judicial nominees. Big influential, long effecting win for Democrats.

Democrats blank check spending spree that’s been killing Americans is over. We get a breather. The most radical elements of the Democrat agenda are stopped now. Now we need to analyze why this night didn’t go better. Who did well tonight? Who did poorly tonight? Why did that happen? We need an autopsy because there’s a corpse and we need to know the cause of death.

We are polarized to the max. As much as can be conceived. Midterms usually turn more but we’re locked it seems. We’re dug in. I don’t think there are many independents left.

Voters seemed to by and large stick with what they had. But a majority is a majority and that can’t be discounted. Disappointing in it’s margins, a little surprising, but blue seats were flipped. But Republicans are in control now. McCarthy has wanted this for a while now, he’s been preparing for it, to be Speaker. I’l take tonight over two more years of what we’ve had. I predict a lot of Democrat retirements. 2024 is shaped up much better for Republicans. Republicans had a tough political table here, lots of Republican seats up, a lot less Democrat seats up. Two years from now the tables are reversed, much more opportunities for Republicans.


Karl Rove
It looks like Republicans are getting around 222 House seats. That’s a narrow majority. But unlike Democrats the Republicans are not seeking to transform America with massive legislation and spending. They’ll put the brakes on.

I just hope everyone has a little grace and understanding and tries to work with the other side because Americans feel like there is no order.

I think voters want a more populist conservative agenda but I also think they’re tired of chaos and sideshows. I think they want a bit of normalcy. I think a lot of these candidates seemed more chaotic than normal and I think that hurt Republicans in a major way.
