I wouldn't put it past Trump to just pick of the phone and call Ayatollah Khamenei

Just like Trump has with the Neocons, the Ayatollah has war hawks in his ear telling him armed conflict is the only solution.
Surely he's intelligent enough to understand that ANY sort of conflict with the US ends with thousands of dead Iranians, crippled Iranian infrastructure, a decimated Iranian military, and most likely with him being deposed as leader. Obtaining nukes would be the least of his problems.
With Trump being the Alpha personality that he is, I wouldn't put it past him to just pick up the phone and talk to him personally and remind him that despite all of the rhetoric from the war hawks in both their ears that innocent people doesn't need to die and remind him of what's at stake.
They said he wouldn't talk to Rocket man and he's met with him twice and talked countless times on the phone. What say you? Stranger things have happened.

Now that we are energy independent, if shoving said tomahawk missile up said Iranian assess means one more American mother wakes up to the nightmare of being told her son is dead ultimately for nothing, for a bunch of ungrateful backward-arse and angry people who despised his life as much as they celebrated his death and still hate America, and pave the way for China and Russia to have more influence in the region, then I am 1000% against this stupid idea. The rest of the world is willing to fight down to the last American G.I. No more! Let them die for their own oil.

How so? Trump likes to deal with "the man" and not some flunkie errand boy. Everything he's ever done validates this.

I think he should make it clear that he has no intention of invading, occupying, or rebuilding Iran. If they're in the market for extended air and sea bombardment we can probably hook them up.

People have to remember that Trump is playing long ball here too. Sanctions are working, BIGLY working. Their economy is in shambles and the natives are getting restless.
Trump lobbing bombs and killing innocent Iranians will only unite the populace behind leadership. No citizen anywhere wants to see their own citizens die on their own soil.
Trump just needs to keep applying maximum pressure and stay the course. Plus as an added bonus he gets to tell the war hawks to frick off.

This situation feels just like the traditional Kim strategy of acting out in an effort to force or hasten negotiation of an agreement that ultimately relieves sanctions.

Iran has virtually no violent crime at all. Compare that to our country and who are the Thugs?

Yeah it appears to be stalled out with them. But then again, Im outta the loop. I guess at least ole boy's toned it down a bit and isnt shootin off missles left and right, for whatever that's worth.
