If you haven't seen it, do it.

See if you can get through the movie without getting royally pissed off at how our government turned its back on those Americans fighting for their lives. I couldn't.

Spoiler alert: Four Americans die.

Saw it at the cinema.

It's my favorite Michael Bay film.

It's fantastic.

It was very well done IMO without directly imparting too much politics

It just showed it from their point of view. They knew the government was watching and was doing nothing

I've watched it 20-30 times

Station chief should have been shot in the head and left for the locals.

I do have mixed emotions about it. Private contractors should know they could get sold out vs we shouldn't sell out Americans doing work for our government.

True. The "blame" was subtle.

The scene showing the military transport plane sitting on the ground in Europe (Italy, I believe) loaded with about 50 troops in full battle gear just waiting for the go-ahead to go on the rescue mission was subtle, but made the obvious point.

Along with the fighter jets sitting in the hangar after a low-level, high-speed fly-by was requested to put some fear in the jihadis and buy the trapped Americans some time.

I could.

I’ll preface this with I served my nation, deployed many times to the Middle East as a guy on the front lines. I went into this movie ready to be upset and emotionally invested based off all of the news and what everyone was saying on social media. I hadn’t really been spun up on it other than the basics.

What I came away with after watching this movie and reading up on it in-depth was being more disappointed that we weren’t prepared for worst case scenario, and that’s what it was. It was a lack of preparation. There were no plans in place for a rescue mission if shite hit the fan. Because there was no plan in place the government hindered themselves from reacting properly. Quite frankly this is the case with many covert operations involving the US, though some not as dire as others. The government thinks just because we are Americans that’s enough to shield us from the bad guys.

I think it was an absolute breach of trust to leave them in the position they were in when there was a possibility of relief and maybe rescue. And that decision did not rest with Secretary Clinton. That went to the White House itself. An absolute disgrace.

I watched it last night as well, for about the third time. Still pisses me off thinking about it. And, the station chief came across as a real moron.

I still haven’t been able to muster the strength to watch. I’m afraid I’ll get too angry.

Our ambassadors should not carry that same fate. Our ambassadors should have a very reasonable expectation of safety, Benghazi wasn’t reasonable.

I agree.

I don’t believe there wasn’t more security with Stevens in such a volatile area and preapproved contingencies weren’t in place to deploy forces if there was any type of organized attack.

Benghazi was the main reason I would not vote for Hillary.

I saw it but had missed the first 30 minutes so I skipped over it.

Will definitely take it in.
