Wonder what made Tate stand out?

Henderson is familiar with LA higher ed, probably understands areas for improvement. His selection would of made sense.

He's an IGNORANT RACIST PIECE OF PURE F*CKING FILTH - exactly what JBE and his D.C. democrat overlords love about him.

Henderson...................? The Trump Science guy? THAT is who you want leading the flagship university in the state?............................And you expect the university to be taken seriously by the rest of the nation?

Meh. Henderson was a political animal. He didn't anything to advance the UL system; he mostly watched out for his own skin.

Can you elaborate on this?

What confuses me about Tate is that he wasn't even on the initial list of candidates. Where did he come from?

He missed the deadline for applications and was allowed to apply late.

Kim Hunter Reed came out with an ambitious plan to increase degrees and certificates in Louisiana.

Monty Sullivan at LCTCS has a series of initiatives with his best being the promotion of non-degree credentials to get people trained up quick for needed jobs that pay well.

Henderson???

You haven't been paying attention. Henderson brought the nine universities together in a plan to drive completion and expand research. He basically forced Regents to adopt a completion goal and killed their effort to get rid of dual enrollment. He created Compete Louisiana. Over the past 15-20 years, you would be hard-pressed to find anyone who has pushed more. Hell, he was the one who brought non-degree credentials to LCTCS after Katrina!
