know they are going to lose a lot of revenue. They will change their stance after the season starts and fight another day.

Either way the league is screwed because they let the tail wag the dog.

The NFL threw kerosene on a fire that was going out....but they can’t be stupid enough to make the same mistake twice by going against the vast majority of their base.

They will commit to more silly gestures like causes on cleats and donations to some charities, but they will table this for the next CBA.

Short of doing nothing, this is the stupidest decision they could ever have made. Just wait until you have entire teams staying in the locker room, or large numbers of players raising clinched fists. Nothing in the rule prohibiting either. The whole mess is going to get worse before it gets better.

The NFL doesn't make their money off season tickets. They make their money off TV contracts, which they are currently half way through. They are trying to save their tv ratings because if they continue to fall, they won't get the nearly 40 billion they're getting now. Which would mean the salary cap would go down. And that's why these players are too stupid to understand what they are doing to themselves.

Why not just scrap the anthem all together? It seems like an odd thing to do before each game anyways.

I agree with the sentiment of your post BUT, l have a feeling that the 1/2 hearted way the NFL "introduced" the fine will not win over many patriots.

The NFL, In fact, is ALREADY backtracking saying the new policy is not official yet.

Of course they did.

All that bullshite happened last year after a lot of people were stuck with season tickets. Now everybody is free and clear to make that decision with all the info.

They should not on the tickets how much with go to the BLM allies.

The NFL prohibits the raising of fists. Goodell said the players must stand up and be respectful.

Raising a fist is not respectful.

And you want to unify the country. Here’s an anthem where we all stare at a flag and give thanks that 65,000 people attending and 2,000,000 million watching on t.v. And 85 standing on the field have put a country and a God above themselves out of pure thanks that people have sacrificed so that everyone can watch a damn sport and be safe and have food.
May as well get rid of it.
