I think the Dems get smashed in the mid-terms, but they honestly could care less

They know what they are doing is wholly unpopular. People hate inflation, people hate the woke garbage. They hate the polarization, they hate the incompetence, and they see Biden as weak and incoherent.
So they will continue their Cloward Piven strategy, and wreak as much damage and inflict as much pain as possible for the next 6 months.
Because they know when the weak, timid, Republicans take over next year, they can shift all the blame to them. And they know the weak, timid Republicans won't actually do anything serious about investigating the corruption, because in many cases they were in on the take.
This will also allow for them to throw Biden under the bus and discard him into the trash bin, and they will set themselves up for a new candidate in 2024 to go against Trump
Either way. The damage left in the wake by the left will not be able to be corrected by the Republicans. So they win either way, they will pick back up on their reign of terror the next time they are in power again, knowing the Republicans will not do jackshit about reversing any of it.

I think that gerrymandering has created so many safe seats, and the Dems know they will lose the ones that are not safe. So they really have nothing to lose by being radical.
And as to your contention that the Republicans won’t do anything to reverse the Dems’ policies, what about destroying the individual mandate for ACA, or overturning Roe vs Wade?

Solid assessment. Our populous has become fat and lazy and without true vision. We hunger for it, but can’t grasp it. The Dems are right about one thing; to “fundamentally change “ something the old has to go away before the new takes it’s place. Painful process. The cream always rises.
