The dude spent $12 million of his own money and lost because he did the one thing that everyone in Louisiana was telling him not to do. I wonder how much those consultants charged him for the bad advice.

at you white boot idiots that believed Lyin' Eddie's ads. at the white boots who went full retard for the bidznessmand (i.e. Parmen and the BOAT and Rodfather) who actually believed this would not back fire on Rispone.

Yeah, it was definitely his ads and not that people just thought he was a better candidate than low-energy Doc.

I'm going to make a prediction that JBE will become a millionaire after being governor. It's like magic.

I am laughing at the people of Louisiana (aka white boots). It wasn't just the Abraham attack ads that he got ripped off on. The bumper sticker on my truck ad was one of the worst political ads in history and the West Point and trial lawyer ad was a close second. Whoever told him that those were good ideas, good ads, or were going to help him win basically stole his money.

Very few care that he wasted his own money.

The only thing this troll thread does is make you look like a lunatic.

People south of Alexandria should be barred from voting for 40 years. They’re awful at it

Such a stupid statement.

Career politician lmao. I could see you owning a football team and wanting to hire Doc Rivers because he’s not a “career football coach”.

What’s so stupid about it? Career politicians are scum regardless of which letter they have next to their name.

Ralph Abraham never ever went negative against Rispone. Ever.

And last night should tell you as to why that is.

This is a state election where people are more flexible with their vote and you just cannot piss off voters you will need later. You just cannot do that.

Ideological purity and sycophancy for Trump may have been enough to win a primary but it wasn't enough to win the runoff.

Career politicians have led Louisiana into the dumpster. Too many people in this state (including you) are apparently content with being fat, dumb and happy.

It comes down to this sad reality...businesses & money producers are outweighed by anchors in this state. The anchors voted JBE heavily.

This scenario is trending on the national level too with the Prog promises of something for nothing. I would argue that La has taken that bait.

We all got sold a lemon & the embarrassing part is we got to test drive JBE for 4 incompetent years.

Rispone campaign is really interesting to me.

He had to go negative to beat Abraham in the primary. He was in third much of the race and came out guns blazing and attacking Abraham which catapulted him into the runoff. That allowed him to keep quite on plans and be vague and talk in platitudes.

He wasn’t able to pivot in the runoff though and just kept the same tactic and thought the president’s popularity would put him over the top. He needed to change tactics, not go purely negative, come out with two or three specific issues he planned to address (with specifics) and prove he was a leader (I actually think the president didn’t help him with this because he seemed like a lackey).

It was a close race and he had a path to victory but couldn’t change tactics in the runoff. I think Abraham had a better chance of beating JBE in the runoff. But he wasn’t a strong candidate either.

IF he had hired competent consultants maybe they could have helped him with that. Remember that Rispone's campaign manager was the guy in charge of the Rand Paul campaign in Iowa and was adamant about not worrying about the 2012 Ron Paul voters leaving the Pauls and voting for Cruz.

Rispone had JBE on the ropes but he ran a very mediocre to absolutely unremarkable campaign in the runoff that quite frankly was not good enough to crush JBE but also not bad enough to outright lose it.

Rispone let this race come down to turnout and the difference was that he lost enough Abraham voters in North Louisiana that it enabled EBR and Orleans parish to get JBE the win.

Abraham for all his faults was laser focused on JBE and avoided going negative against Rispone because he understood that you just cannot piss off voters you will need later.

Rispone panicked and threw that rule out the window to secure a spot in the runoff but it became his own undoing when he ran a very mediocre campaign he did in the runoff.

You're talking about Bryan Reed right?

That guy has time to snipe at the Hayride and trash Scott McKay and leave negative reviews on his book but he doesn't have time to run a competent campaign.

He's arrogant as hell, doesn't give a damn about local advice wherever he goes and thinks he's hot shite because he managed to con some political candidates out of their money and run shitty campaigns for them.

Reed should be finished in political consulting for a career or at least get out of the drivers seat and go learn from some real pros that know what they're doing.

I feel the same way.
It’s not like he didn’t buy enough ad time to do it
