I heard a clip of Doug Jones this morning, regarding his vote for ACB...

So I was listening to a local radio news 12:00pm update where they played a clip of Doug Jones this morning(I believe). The subject was mentioned about his vote on ACB and towards the end he said something to the effect of "Folks you have to understand, my vote doesn't matter and it has been baked into the situation for a while now." WTF is that supposed to mean? Any response aside from, "I am voting my conscience based off what is right in accordance with the law and/or Constitution" is BS.
So in simpler terms, he is voting for what is politically expedient for him or what will, in his mind, catch him as little flak from his leaders in the Dem party. That is 180 degrees apart from why you were elected Mr. Jones!

Nevermind. I was thinking Doug Collins.

That's great too, trust me but my goodness...the brass balls it takes to actually say what he did is staggering to me and symbolic to what is wrong with politicians these days.

Jones is done. He got a gift from the media and social media.

I’m always amazed that this guy got elected.

All the more reason to do what's right, than to do what is political.
I would have more respect for Democrats if they came out at this point and said we're not going to besmirch the reputation of such an accomplished jurist by giving a no vote. It's going to pass anyway you may as well look good and do what's right.

He's total shite and a useless hack yet driving through Mountain Brook and there's a Doug Jones sign in every other yard. The stupidity and ignorance of the electorate is simply mind boggling.

I know my Senate seat is cooked so I don't have to have any semblance of loyalty to the voters of Alabama. So I'll be voting in line with the party as to preserve my future political ambitions within our party.

MB people by and large are elitists. Them supporting Dems doesn't shock me in the least.

He must be hoping for a Biden win and some kind of cabinet position so he is showing loyalty. He sure won't ever get elected to any statewide office in Alabama again.

If you are an elected official you vote for what 60% of your constituents want.
No explanations why not and you should be voted or recalled as soon as possible.

I wrote that clown back during the Kavanagh confirmation to remind him that Alabama is largely a conservative state who supports President Trump. Of course he voted against Kavanagh and he also voted to remove the President during the impeachment sham.
He truly does NOT represent the people of the state. I've written him several more times since and reminded him not to get too comfortable in D.C.

He is still hoping for an appointment to a position in the Biden/Harris white house... Wishful thinking but he is a Dem homer to the highest order...

Well I suppose I can admire the pine tar that's on his heels, but I sincerely hope he has a lot of free time the next 4 years...

So in simpler terms, he is voting whatever way Nancy Pelosi and Schmucky tell him to vote -- JUST LIKE HE ALWAYS DOES.
FIFY!
Jones realizes that his life after the Senate will depend upon whatever cushy jobs Schmucky can arrange for him due to his being a good brownshirt and marching in goosestep with the filth that is the Democrat party during the short time he was a Senator. Look for a nice little, highly compensated CNN or PMSNBC gig.

You should remind him not to get comfortable in Alabama. Retire elsewhere!
