This is all we hear when you babble-

Yes, BLACK LIVES MATTER has nothing to do with race. Not sure what I was thinking.

This isn't even about race. It's like caring about what stupid actors think. Who can possibly give the first frick about it? De Niro can spout all the crazy left wing shite he wants...and I'll be here happily watching The Godfather II and encouraging others to do so as well. Couldn't give the first frick about his politics.

Your nihilist philosophy is boring and corrosive. Do you care about anything outside of your own existence? If you don't respect the lives that have been lost to build this country then you deserve whatever you get.

Man, look. We have entire families who have lost family members in wars fought to liberate the oppressed and defeat evil in the name of spreading the kind of freedom we have perfected in the US. You want to be a devils's advocate and say that what they are doing means nothing but that is just disingenuous bull shite. It matters.
You don't require national anthems at games to achieve any of the respect/adulation/etc. that you are keen on giving. Go do it on your own. Stop caring about the general public - they will disappoint you every time with their fricking stupidity. I have the same types of people in my family - none of them need adulation at a ball game or to demand respect when some song is played.

Patriotism (love of country) is the only thing that we have as a diverse country that *should* unify all of us and until recently it did exactly that. SO just respect our traditions. Not that hard.
If this is what you are leaning on, then you should learn the history. It's not as clean as you are making it out to be.

Everyone, even very young children, should rise, remain standing, and salute by placing the right hand over the heart during the playing of The Star-Spangled Banner—first note to last. The anthem isn’t easy to sing, and you need not do so if you don’t have the necessary range. But you must stand quietly until “O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave” has rung out and the music ends.

Yes. I care about my friends, family and humanity.

You are the one attempting to define what respect is.

This is the guy telling you to stop caring. He clearly cares way fricking more than the people that hate kneeling.

You seem to care a whole lot about strangers caring about standing for the anthem.

Man, whatever. You want all of the benefits of this country's awesome freedom but you don't want it to cost *you* anything, even the simple respect of tradition. You are exactly the problem with the country.

That is an odd aspect to this. I haven't followed the NFL for decades (no particular reason), but I don't get the sense that people are showing up and throwing rotten fruit at the players for kneeling or whatever it is they're doing. If they're screaming in their faces like the BLM kooks, then I'd agree that they're caring a bit too much. But just choosing not to watch really isn't a big deal.

Nah. I'm a great citizen. I pay a shitload of taxes, never break the law and enjoy my De Niro movies.

Seems like infinite virtue signaling on these boards where EVERYONE has to know that you (not you) won't be watching because of kneeling.

I honestly don't get it. With this strategy, you really could just never watch any movie or TV show ever again (or buy any smartphone, etc.) I mean, Tim Cook actually compared Jacob Blake to Emmett Till.

NFL players standing for the anthem started in 2009. Before that, they would stay in their locker rooms.

Sounds like a minimal-viable-product for being an American citizen. Stop mailing it in. Be better.

Also 100% fine for me and most of America. Have no problem with that at all.

Defending? Nah. Indifference is not a defense. I watched a lot of several games Sunday and didn't have to see any of this shite. It's just not there.
Anything other than rabid, mouth-foaming, unconditional, blanket renunciation constitutes “defense,” in the minds of zealots.
