I don't care if EVERY WORD Rogan has ever said is wrong. WTF

How in the frick have we arrived at a place in this nation where people genuinely believe that everyone they believe to be wrong must be silenced, lose their jobs, etc etc etc?
Do stupid fricks like Manilow and Young REALLY want to live in a world where that's the paradigm? Are liberals REALLY that fricking stupid and completely lacking in foresight?
Young's very existence is owed to the fact that even though he was born into a nation FAR more conservative than him, his ideas were out there and recording studios weren't afraid to record him. And the same goes for a lot of the music he loved growing up.
Hell, his entire party, thru the 80s.........CORRECTLY fought against people who wanted to attack artists for their content because it was "evil" or "satanic" blah blah blah.
These stupid fricks are taking what may be the greatest feature of American society above all others, and just shitting on it.
Yeah. The 1st Amendment is about protecting us from government but it EXISTS because we as a people used to value you in general practice also. Even the actual reason for the 1st will cease to exist if we, as a people no longer even value the concept as a social good.
You cannot maintain a 1st Amendment if half the nation views it as nothing more than an impediment to what they REALLY want to do. Hell, the reality is, the 1st Amendment shouldn't even really need to exist. We should ALL value the concept of free and open thought even without it.
And yeah, that means that quite often, you're gonna hear shite you don't like.

They have been erasing opposing views for years

Rogan could say the N-Word ten thousand times in a row and I wouldn’t want him banned.

It's not entirely what Joe Rogan says that is the issue. It's that he's giving people who have been blacklisted and banned a platform.

This is NOT coming from Neil Young…it’s coming from the owner of Neil Young’s music. Blackstone owns large shares of pharma and have pushed Young to make the demand. The large sovereign wealth funds are pushing the Covid narrative to boost profits. Plain and simple.

People tend to change their opinions regarding freedom when it’s other people’s liberties at stake rather than there own. Everyone has pet peeves. Everyone deep down wishes, at least sporadically and in the moment, for someone who annoys them to not be allowed to do so. I can’t tell you how many times I had to pass through a cloud of cigarette smoke to get where I wanted to go and thought about how great it would be if some hyperbolic stereotype of a law enforcement officer appeared out of thin air and beat the everloving dog shitte out of them.
Everyone believes in the necessity of freedom for themselves, but suddenly doesn’t like freedom any more when their neighbor is playing loud music when they’re trying to sleep. All of these celebrities used to be the loud neighbor, demanding freedom for their own sakes. Now, they’re the ones trying to sleep, calling the police on anyone keeping them up at night. Such is the natural hypocrisy of liberty. Liberty for all means a lot of people will use that freedom to annoy and inconvenience the ever loving shitte out of you.
