The point here is that if you and Wednesday — both responsible regs imo — have a disagreement over DeSantis and Trump, it doesn’t mean you or her are blithering idiots. It means you have a disagreement …over DeSantis and Trump.

Because we have a vision of a conservative opposition party that doesn't involve Donald Trump doesn't mean we have somehow been manipulated.....IT MEANS WE ARE NOT SHEEP AND THINK FOR OURSELVES.

It's a stupid and insulting assumption.

Great...so that means he was fine the other 6 days!

I'd say that funding is directly germane to who gets access and who controls the messaging in the political realm. Just as we see with Biden getting his palms greased on the side and how his policy has obviously been altered in places/entities like Ukraine and China.

You're drawing errant conclusions via the treacherous road of assumptions.

Huh? This makes no sense...just spit the baby out next time. You seem to be having a bit of trouble with your grammar, and syntax in your rant. This is a side effect on "Long TDS" I assume? I hear there's a red pill that might help for this. After you take it, you might need a coat as well depending on the dose and effectiveness of it...

Trump could have said Ron's a good man and a good governor, but voting for me is a better decision and this is why. But Trump's childish arrogance makes him see Ron as an enemy for daring to run against him. So he foolishly tweets that Ron couldn't have won without him and calls him Desanctimonious. The bad blood is all on Trump.

There's an awful lot I like about Ron DeSantis, but when he is backed by Paul Ryan, Jeb Bush, the Lincoln Project, and big-money anti-MAGA donors like Ken Griffin, I see only two possibilities: (1) either they think that Governor DeSantis will eventually play ball with the Über-Globalists or (2) they are committed to dividing the MAGA coalition between DeSantis and Trump, conquering MAGA once and for all, and forcing voters back to the Establishment-approved, corporate Republicanism embraced by the likes of Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy, Asa Hutchinson, Larry Hogan, Tim Scott, and Nikki Haley.

This ^^^. The entrenched bureaucracy, neo-con, globalist, uni-party gravy train would continue under DeSantis.

I don’t really have a problem with someone wanting to support Trump. Personal preference is part of our political system.

There’s simply no need to misrepresent another candidate or make up a narrative without evidence about them in order to exercise your personal preference.

Worth a repeat, for all the good it will do. Op fell into the tard trap of attempting to explain why other people are making their choices instead of why she's making hers. No doubt she's well qualified to do the latter; the former not so much.

Trump strengthened the "uniparty" and deep state.

After promising to end Obamacare, close the border, deport all illegals he did none of it.

He did spend enough money to keep the "deep state" functioning for a while.

It’s like I’ve always said, 70% of the Republican voters are just as stupid the democrats. Most people in this country still think government can solve the issues we face in this nation and that’s not the case.

Because of McCane and Ryan. Did you forget?

How you think he expanded the deep state is beyond me. They just all came out of hiding to get him. We didn’t know how vast it was until Trump.

I agree. Pretend Republicans supporting a liberal grifter over the most conservative Governor in the country.

Y'all are liberals.

Roger. You win. Desantis is more conservative than Trump.

My OP is not about the merits of who is the better candidate. It’s about what is inevitable. If you sincerely want Desantis involved on a policy level, wouldn’t you prefer it if he were actually involved in the Presidential Race?

Desantis is a great governor. He’d probably be a great president. I agree with you, and the point of this whole Political Party Poltics is to make sure you’re pissed at me, so you stay home.

The Republican nominee will be Trump. You don’t have to like it - but it’s reality. Desantis does not have a path to win the nomination. He just doesn’t. He started with a strategy of persuading the 30 percent of Trump’s base who were persuadable. That’s just not enough people to win. I speak to you as part of that original 30 percent.

If RDS pulls it off- I’d still vote for him. Even though you think I’m a stupid cultist. I’m not going to commit national suicide to spite anyone. Nikki Haley is a different animal. If she’s anywhere on any R ticket, even Trump’s, I’d vote for RFK.

The point of my post is that political professionals who ARE NOT Ron Desantis knew that Trump’s core base wouldn’t leave him, but they were not original garden variety NeverTrumpers of ‘16. These forces unfortunately set Ron up as their patsy. They used him. And they used you. It sucks. But I can see no other explanation for what happened here.

The donors who supported RDS initially, have abandoned him. His campaign is going to run out of money. RDS is awesome. Christina Pushaw gave him some atrociously bad advice, and she is terrible.

He started by selling himself as an alternative, but then got frustrated and his campaign became about “if you support Trump you’re in a cult.”

I’ll concede to you the argument as to Desnatis's conservative bonafides. Ok fine. But what does it gain Desantis, or the country that Desantis is more conservative if he doesn’t even win the primary? What is the plan when the general election is Biden v. Trump?

If it’s “stay home” or “vote Biden” or “vote third party” well . . . The Uniparty plan worked. At least you supported the “true conservative” in the primary.

How is voting for Trump any different? We ended up with higher levels of spending, a president who wants to grab guns with no due process, and Covidians in the highest halls of government.

I'm not under the impression that The Paul's, Masseys, Desantis types are perfect, but they arent liberal like Trump when it comes to spending.

Trump didnt just continue the open purse, he enlarged the purse. How do y'all get past this? Its the cornerstone of liberalism?

Sounds like Donny wanted to appease Democrats, not Republicans.

I have never understood the hate directed at DeSantis. I am a Trump/Desantis supporter. Trump's record speaks for itself and DeSantis' record as governor does, also. Biden and the Democrats and their agenda and record are our enemies here. We on the right will be well advised to remember that and vote accordingly. Just my opinion.

Because what is happening now is immeasurably worse than Trump spending a lot of money. At the point he was doing it, the economy was also growing.

Trump spent lots of money during Covid. But my God, at least we were blowing and going before that and we weren’t at war.

Is Trump perfect? absofrickinglutely not. But he’s what you’re going to be stuck with. The solution is not either of us staying home, or supporting Nikki Haley.

The only way to possibly get this situation back on track is to have smart people who ordinarily agree on the same team. That is all I am suggesting.

The GOPe lost control of the Republican Party and they are desperate to get it back. These people 150% DGAF about spending. They have us as serfs with no electricity just so they can sell more bombs and bullets

Whats happening now is directly related to the money Donny spent.

The deep state and bureaucracy thrive on funding. The only way to cause the influence to wane is to cut funding.

Trump already wants to build the FBI a brand new state of the art facility. He is lying to you folks
