Trump parlayed his B List Celebrity and Game Show host cred into votes. His supporters love his snappy putdowns and one liners. He tells off all of the right people, never mind that his governing resume is thin.

I disagree with a lot of y’all here. I don’t think that he can win the General. Biden is not going to be the nominee, and when the Documents Trial starts and the ads start rolling, people are going to be reminded of why they don’t like him. The best thing ever done for him was being banned from Twitter. He won’t be able to hide after that.

So you're not going to commit national suicide to spite anyone...except Nikki Haley.

I dont read tCult materials but obviously someone has planted in these rubes mind that this is a DeSantis vs Trump war.

Theyre the only ones fighting this retarded battle. I dont even know where it came from. Some ghetto "loyalty" pledge.

Thats Donny's tactic, to fight people in his own party.

Hes not capable of getting support because he is a horrible leader. This is the bottom line, Trump is ineffective because he is combative with everyone who could possibly help him.

Anyone who doesnt offer unilateral support to the man is pushed aside and attacked. You run out of allies very quickly.

Who will work for him?

This is also true.

Seems like 2017-2020 was a Perfect Storm combination of sabotage, treason, incompetence, sandbagging, and Kabuki Theater.

IOW....SCRIPTED & PLANNED from A-Z.

And never was.

Pecker indicated as much — in his usual understated style — in a recent thread on the matter:

Yet anyone who said so when DeSantis first announced his Presidency was very likely to be a deemed a brain-washed cULtiSt by some on this forum.

We have the receipts.

Makes no sense to alienate so many probable natural allies (once the Political Theater circus season is over).

Since it makes NO sense whatsoever, is it possible Orange Man isn't exactly playing things straight?

After 2020 I have serious reservations about the veracity of leadership and how events shook out (Demo of EVERYTHING).

and we weren’t at war.

Yes we were.

We were in Afghanistan still, we were raining down airstrikes on Syria, we were aggressively antagonizing Iran over our pursuit of ISIS and we were assassinating Iraqi generals (probably in violation of international law).

We were doing plenty of things that those of y'all parroting the Tucker Carlson stupidity of "'Merca First!" would be pissing y'all's pants about if they were happening today instead of 5 years ago, claiming that we were "trying to start WWIII so that the politicians can profit." If Nikki Haley even talked about doing any of the things Trump did like that his first time around you'd want her impeached and run out of office.

But Tucker The Conspiracy Nutter hadn't told you you needed to worry about stuff like that back then, so to you it's like it never happened. Or you thought it was a good thing at the time, since no one told you it wasn't yet.

And here's the thing...there's exactly zero reason to believe that Trump won't do stuff like that in a second term.

So of all of the things you can defend Trump on, this isn't one of them. Not as long as you're going to listen to idiots like Tucker Carlson at the same time.

Whatever your opinion of Trump or DeSantis and whoever you want to blame for the anger that exists in the opposing camps, Wednesday’s point that the DeSantis campaign has only served to fracture the MAGA movement — and I certainly include DeSantis as a member of that movement — has been proven correct.

I am sorry but are you saying the because DeSantis decided on a run this cycle that he is somehow responsible for fracturing the MAGA base? Is Nikki fracturing the base? or Vivek? Is this not America and the marketplace of ideas? Can anyone not put themselves forward for election and let the best candidate with best ideas win? Are you telling me the guy who lost last time is somehow entitled to this nomination and my vote?

Once again you just proved my point: its fealty to Donald Trump or your'e a traitor or not smart enough to see you are being manipulated.....or there is something more sinister going on in that these shadowy GOPe actors are simply running the campaign behind the scenes.......although you just contradicted yourself by complaining that Ron's campaign is a disaster.

DeSantis is trying to win an election and pitching himself to the base. Apparently it wasn't so successful but you seem to think he is usurping some ordained right conferred upon Trump and he is a hertic for challenging the Trump orthodoxy.

So someone is a cultist for saying what was true? That the numbers simply weren’t there for DeSantis?

That is a value free assessment and was true regardless of your opinion of Trump or DeSantis. Yet here we have it — that didn’t take long!

If it’s “stay home” or “vote Biden” or “vote third party” well . . . The Uniparty plan worked.
Trump walked into the trap, though. Hell, had a parade into the trap.

Endorsing Stacey Abrams, praising Andrew Cuomo’s COVID response, being in line with Democrats on SS, backing McCarthy and Ronna McDaneil, palling around with Lindsey Graham, all fracture his support among conservatives.

You cannot blame those things on Democrats.
