He’s not wrong about pharmacology either. Benzodiazepines are routinely one of the most prescribed medications in the USA and getting an Opioid prescription isn’t too hard if you’re in your 30s+.

I think HUxley actually looked forward to the drugged society. He hung out with Timothy Leary and spoke of it as if it was a good thing.

Orwell's total surveillance state is also very real though, as is the treatment of history and basic knowledge.
