With Collins currently 6 points down in her bid for reelection, will she "act like a Democrat" and vote "No" to take votes away from her Democrat challenger in an effort to secure her reelection?

As you recall, she waffled during the Kavanaugh hearing but eventually voted to confirm. Some say a "No" vote by Republican senators is paramount to political suicide, but I'm not so sure about Collins.

She’s gonna vote no. I don’t think it’s even worth arguing or pondering

This is the real barometer of how much the GOPe wants Trump for a second term.

If they do, expect a nominee to squeeze in before November.

She can’t be trusted. If she wants any chance, she’ll side with Trump. That won’t happen though, because she’s WEAK.

At first glance, you are correct. Collins, however, would not want the RNC to withdraw support from her reelection bid; she's in a tight race. You can bet that McConnell has already flashed this card. Utah voters want a conservative justice, of that I'm pretty sure. Romney wouldn't want to get in the way of that, would he? Unfortunately, Moosekowski is kind of untouchable... at the moment.

She can act like a Democrat all she wants but she'll be trampled over and thrown aside like a ragdoll eventually. I'll never understand why anyone would capitulate to the democrat mob tactics.

The real conservatives in her state need to blast her with emails saying if she voteS no then they will not vote for her.

Therefore, Joe Manchin (D) becomes the center of attention. Will he repeat his Kavanaugh "Yea"?

the reason Collins is in trouble is b/c she voted for Kav & voted against removing Trump from office in the impeachment trial

Portland & Bangor doing work to keep the majority of that state's EVs blue

She will vote yes. She has nothing to lose. She is going to lose her seat anyway.

She will vote yes. Her only hesitation last time was due to the fake metoo stuff.

That wont exist with Barrett

This is why I think Trump picks Barrett. If so, Collins will lose a good bit of women support by voting against a woman scotus replacement . She’s stuck between a rock and a hard place, sucks for her.

She will abstain, which is very different from NO

My understanding is that 50 votes aren’t required, a majority is required.

Your understanding is correct. Kav was confirmed with 50 votes.

senate.org

ETA:It's not 50 votes required- it's a majority of a quorum.

That's not a no vote.....that's making a statement that she opposes voting before election. Carefully worded of course.

I don't think she's ever voted against the nominee of either party during her time in the Senate.

This would be beyond unprecedented for her - it would be an overt step against her own party, insofar as she is very nominally a Republican.
