After watching some Band of Brothers this week, I can't help but feel that the world was so different when that show was released (2001). The show was celebrated and loved by millions because it made you feel patriotic and appreciative for those men's sacrifice.

Sincerely - how soon do we see our WW2 vets and their memories get messed with in the name of 'racism' or 'sexism' or (insert your liberal accusation here)?

The thought of WW2 and it's memory being in jeopardy from liberal BS makes me incredibly scared and sad IMHO.

I don’t think enough young people care about it for it to get on their radar.

There is no doubt if we went back to that time today's left wing would be firmly in Nazi Germanys camp. Their ideology and methods are nearly identical

If you watched the originals, you would notice a lot more than the violence was edited out on the network showings...

I purchased almost ever red meat movie I could for that very reason. My fear is that even with buying the content that Amazon, iTunes etc... will say I don’t own the movie and take it down from their servers in the future and simply refund the money. I will probably just start purchasing 4K blu rays from here in out. Digital purchases are risky.

They are starting to work into the '50s now, the formative years of our oldest citizens.
They may not have the living knowledge of how to tweek the 40's into a rainbow.

Netflix WW2 in color may be working on that. Watch in subtitles.
IIRC, the Germans crossing Europe were not that formidable of a fighting force. They used strategy to defeat the European allies, who weren't that strong either.
The subliminal point: by default, we as Americans really only looked like heros by defeating the Germans, who really weren't that tough.
I may just be paranoid.

As a kid I watched this alot, and still do now for the sake of nostalgia. But, MASH content probably has enough liberal viewpoints to keep it going for a while. Frank Burns and Winchester are the stereotypical caricatures of the conservative right.

Sgt. York still comes on occasionally but technically a WWI movie. D-Day and Veterans Day still have some movies shown like Big Red One, Longest Day, etc. The European theatre seems safe from censors but good luck finding John Wayne Pacific movies like Fighting Seabees, Back to Bataan, etc.

What I am seeing is the American Flag being cancelled. Old Glory, the Red, White & Blue.

As example, when Cuban tried to pull the National Anthem he claimed his players said that it did not represent them.

Then you Kaepernick and what it's teaching our nation's youth.

Yup, the Flag is next up on cancel culture.

I'm fine with it being canceled. Most of what's shown isn't real.

Young people get exposed to it a lot thru video games.

Nah.

Libs are obsessed with Nazis and since they're perceived to be right wing and the most evil force in human history, I think there'll be no shortage and probably no shortage of Vietnam movies as long as we're portrayed as the bad guys.

Probably sooner than we think: "It was racist for the USA to attack Japan"

Sure, because we all know there has never been a movie made that was about something that wasn't real.

As an old timer I gotta admit that my generation had some very crappy WW2 movies circa 1950. All the G.I.s strangely had Bronx accents. When they saw a pretty girl they said 'Va, va, voom! Look at dem juicy tomatuhs!'
One guy kept playing the Jap general in every movie. Doesn't matter how many times he committed hari kari he was gonna be in next month's movie.
Hell, James Mason played Rommel in two different movies and used a British accent in both.

Right, I see people walking around in masks, tights and capes all the time...

Who needs cops when you got a whole country of caped cruisaders?

I believe the first WWII made during the war was Wake Island.

Great story and the movie was pretty good...won multiple awards primarily because of the story IMO.

Love to see a remake.
