How serious are you about not buying Chinese goods?

Is this something you regularly think about when purchasing goods? I honestly didn't think alot about it until last year. My wife is conservative but thinks I am ridiculous for not wanting to buy the more affordable (made in China) products.

No. Wish I would think about it more but my time is money and I don’t have time to look at every single thing I buy to see where it was made

When possible, I buy anywhere but Chinese.

However, when buying used I don’t pay much attention as the profits have been realized.

For example, I’m buying a smart charger for my boat. The one I actually like the most is Chinese. I found it used on marketplace (but still in plastic) at half the price, so I’ll go that route.

For larger ticket items I pay close attention. Electronics, power tools etc. But that’s really about it.

I am biased to buying ‘Made In The USA’, but I refuse to spend time trying to figure out the country of origin. If you want me to buy your product because it’s made here, make that a prominent part of your advertising.

Also, I refuse to buy a product with less features or that doesn’t exactly match my needs, simply because it’s made here. If the option from somewhere else is truly better, that’s what I’m going with.

This is what I assume is the majority of conservative mindsets about most things... simply the bottom line. Which is understandable to some degree, but if consumers don't want to make this sacrifice, why do we expect corporations, CEOs, and politicians to make the same financial sacrifices?

You are right. And most American really don't look to see where an item is made or care. They want what they want when they want it. Most people do not understand the attack we are under from China. China has a plan to be the world leader and their leadership is methodical and patient to accomplish these goals. Our leadership I feel know this but don't really know how to combat it because it takes a strategic plan OVER TIME. Something we are not good at.

I refuse to purchase Chinese seafood, and I look at country of origin labeling for everything.

Yes. I think about it before making purchases. If it’s solely price I will pay more for the US product.

I just bought a new wallet and sought out one made in AL.

I also don’t shop at places that have built their business on low cost, Chinese shite.

Wal-mart, Costco

I do not buy Chinese food and try to avoid buying their products.
It's easier now that my income is better than when I was younger, not that I am flush with cash.
Wish we aren't so dependent on them for electronics.
Biden is ruining our economy driving out domestic manufacturers.

It depends on the item. In the past they tried to change the formula on stuff and made it toxic or dangerous. Like drywall and Pyrex oven dish exploding.

Seafood is tricky. This industry lies more than any other.

I don't get Chinese food often, but when I do I always get some fried rice. I love that stuff. Beijing beef too.

The wife and I tried our own private boycott of goods and services made by woke corporations, but they have their tentacles in so many sectors that it's very hard to do.
