Last weekend, the campus College Republicans chalked pro-Trump messages on the sidewalk. Such as:

Anti-Trump students had a meltdown. Over chalk. On a sidewalk. Here is a parade of fragile students speaking out at an extended student government meeting, all of them outraged that other students expressed a political opinion — support for the re-election of the President of the United States — that caused them anxiety. I’ve cued the video to the first speaker. There’s a long line of them:

The president of Nicholls responded:

The president sat through a long meeting in which student after student said, in various ways, that the expression of support for Donald Trump was illegitimate, and ought not to have been heard on campus, because it upsets people.

One student worker at a university office decided that she was going to go on a strike in protest of the fact that Republican students who had received death threats were accompanied to class by police officers for their protection:

THEY FIRED HER!!!!! Awesome, Dr. Perry!

But the protests shut down Little Colonels Academy, the on campus daycare. Because they could not guarantee the safety of the little kids. Because of chalk images on sidewalk.

Thibodeaux isn't the Bay Area, or Portland, or even New Orleans. Its a fairly conservative place.

Liberalism is a disease being cultivated on college campuses. Doesn’t have to be in Portland. Just has to involve a college. Sad to say. But, professors and admins (just think of F Scott King) are destroying this country. Have been since the 70s.

Edit: Yuge props to the young kids brave enough to stand up to general college thought, either in support of Trump, babies in the womb, or any other contrarian view to those espoused by their radical counterparts.

State law prevents any display of political support on public property? That doesn’t seem correct. People put up signs all the time on easements etc.

She resigned.

Much like Nolan Richardson basically saying “Take this job and shove it” in a press conference, she publicly abandoned her position.

It makes me happy that her little protest resulted in her losing employment.

These little weasels need to learn that your speech is protected, but so is every one else's.

Two things that popped out to me (probably due to my fastidious nature):
#1 - Dr. Jay Clune - proof-read (or have your secretary proof-read) your release. You have a massive run-on word that combines 7 words (8 if you include the word before the comma). How did you (or whoever put this together for you) not notice? It looks incredibly unprofessional.

#2 - (former) student worker - you're not protesting AGAINST your displeasure. You are displeased with the situation (as poorly understood as it is apparently). You're protesting to SHOW your displeasure.

BTW, when did chalk on a sidewalk become such a hot button issue? You can literally use a bottle of water and get rid of it.

Wow, my university wouldn’t even prescribe birth control. I didn’t know college daycare was a thing.

She’s “protesting against [her own] displeasure?”
Wouldn’t that make her against herself?

I will not work for the university faculties children if the university does not respect my wishes as a student.

Bahahhahahhaha. That ill informed line right there sank her.

Entitaled brat. You are there for an education. At least on that day, you got your money's worth.
