They're not talking to Milley, they're talking to SACEUR in Brussels. Milley is nothing more than a political figurehead.

Of all the clown world things that have happened in the past year the fact that he did this and not only was he not charged with anything but kept his command and was openly celebrated for it might be the king of them all.

I honestly think other nations are stupid for not pushing ahead with conquest goals right now like Russia is. We could do nothing to stop them.

Well, 8 downvotes and I have no clue what this is about. I live in the woods this time of year.

The last time Milley thought we had some snowball's chance of entering into a war, Milley, WITHOUT PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTION, called the ACTUAL frickING POTENTIAL ENEMY to reassure them that we wouldn't attack and that if we did, he'd warn them.

Milley called our enemies behind President Trump’s back and told them we were not going to attack them. That’s not really in his job description. Or anyone in uniform for that matter. It’s treason.

ETA: ShortyRob was spot on with the last part: Milley actually said he would call them back in advance if the US intended to attack them.

So what are your thoughts on it now that you have the context?

Two thoughts: as bright a person that Donald Trump is, how was he hoodwinked by so many that were undermining him and secondly, if there was any law and order in our country that treats everyone the same, the guy would have been at the very least court martialed if not tried for treason. Feel better?

The vast majority of non-elected administrative apparatus of the federal government was actively pushing for his immediate removal from office, as were the entire elected body of democrats and a few republicans. It wasn't undermining, it was open insurrection. A governement attorney plead guilty to falsifying documents in the FISA application based on the completely fake Steele Dossier which was then used to attempt an impeachment.

The man wasn't hoodwinked, they tried to drive him out of town at the end of a hot spear.

There is clearly not.

The dude should have been immediately court-martialed, convicted, and hung as a traitor.

Those openly, sure. He knew who they were. But why trust Sessions, Fauci, Bill Barr, the military brass that he hired, the Chiefs of Staff that he hired. There were plenty of appointees that I think were undermining him when on the surface, they appeared loyal. I'm not sure even Kushner wasn't undermining him to some extent. Just my opinion.

I was thinking gnat but goldfish will work. Or, one could call it information overload. Lots of crap has gone down over the last couple of years. Let me think of a test question for you that occurred say a year ago.

Dude, the Milley thing was HUGE. And only came out about 6 months ago.

I will concede that information overload probably does contribute to the public's attention span shrinkage. The 24/7 news cycle has created a lot more to process for Joe Average.

I don't do twitter and it's hard for me to tell who said what and what it all means. I actually hate when people link to twitter. A picture of Trump sitting next to Milley with some people bitching in their tweets confuses me. I don't watch news so I don't even know if Milley has weighed in on the Ukraine situation.
