Nominees get rejected pretty often, not unheard of, not a big deal.

Gaetz did do good work on Garland. Jim Jordan and Lion Ted are the kings of this. I think the board is mostly deflated and knows these guys all go out for drinks afterward.

Except Gaetz actually seems to be one guy a lot of them genuinely don't like at all.

And they are able to convince (dupe?) folks into believing that is something THEY should see as a big problem with him.

Takes a firebrand out the House, and completely out of office?

Sounds like that was coming anyway. Gaetz didn’t resign because he was nominated. None of the others did.

It was. Trumpkins just can never admit to their cult hero making a mistake.

It wasn’t. I’m no Trumpkin, but Trump always knew Gaetz was not getting confirmed. I’m not sure why he nominated him, maybe it was making good on a promise for support during the election.

I still can’t believe Trump had 4 years to come up with an AG candidate and then proceeded to nominate Matt Gaetz and Pam Bondi

Only in Trumpland is that not stupid.

Agreed, but how much did it add to Garland’s prison sentence

Oh, that’s right

Because every time Trump makes a mistake, there is some esoteric plan behind the scenes that was the REAL plan. Now, these never come true, but when did truth ever matter to these people?

You are the most condescending m’fer on this board. How are you such an a-hole all of the time? LOL

Are there people actually expecting cabinet members, etc to go to prison?

If so—that’s an expectations problem. That isn’t going to happen

The irony of you implying I'm dumb and then making that comment is obviously lost on a person of your status.

Oh look. It’s the Trump sycophant that lives in an 800 sqft cuckbox

Trump is absolutely terrible at appointing people. He has an abysmal track record and these two choices are no different. It’s like you think we didn’t live through the chaos of his last Cabinet that was a revolving door of outcasts and misfits that kept quitting or getting ‘fired’.
