How is abortion tied in with “reproductive rights?”

Let’s forget the term “rights” for this question. That’s a term for another day.

But how is the willful killing of a fetus “reproductive”?

Progs are usually good with their word play, but I think I’m missing something here.

you are correct, it is quite the opposite

it's destructive not reproductive

should be called "destructive rights"

It is almost like you people get some sort of chain mail, telling you what to bitch about.

There has not been one complaint about the use of this term in the entire history of this forum, as far as I can recall. But now, we have had 3 threads in as many days.

Abortion rights are Just a distinct subset of reproductive rights. Yes, some people use the term “reproductive” because they think it sounds nicer. Just like other people use the cuddly term “baby“ to describe a fetus

Newsflash! People on all sides of any issue choose the most effective language to make their argument.

control over reproduction, baw. that's the whole issue with abortion

implicit in the argument is the admission that pregnancy is one of the major divisions between man and woman, and all the associated things (nurturing nature, oxytocin absorption rates/addiction, etc) make that division even more stark

so if you let women dispose of potential pregnancies, you even the playing field. that's why it's linked so hardcore to feminist policies and women's rights.

Bingo.

This is an impressively useless semantics thread. Even for the poliboard.

And "Planned Parenthood" has nothing to do with being a Parent.

What's up with that.

Yeah, that’s the point of the OP as I understood it. It’s misleading language used to frame a narrative.

I don't think I've ever heard a straight man use the term "newsflash".

I’ve been hearing progs regurgitate the term a lot lately. Seems like the talking point went out, and I’m just asking a question.

Trust me. You don’t want to be on my email chains. You couldn’t handle it.

My favorite is when they say it's "healthcare" as though if you didn't have an abortion, the mother would die

Either of which would be for brighter than anything you’ve ever posted.

It's like a boob job, 99 percent of the time the only reason it's happening is because the woman prefers it
