How does this end if we are not going to test everyone?

I know it’s impossible, and I’m not for it.
But...
Are we going to have “hot spots” indefinitely?

The same way it ends if you do test everyone.

You don't need to test everyone. That's silly.

Is this the new lib talking point? We should have 330 million tests available RIGHT frickING NOW! And results to the 330 million tests back by midnight tonight!

How is testing everyone going to end the virus?

So, if we test everyone for the common flu then it will stop?
Posted on 3/20/20 at 12:26 pm to loogaroo
Testing only does so much, hearing ~5% of tests return false positives and negatives.

Why do that? Somebody could test negative and then catch the virus the next week.

Testing is only a snapshot in time. t does not provide future results.
Trying to test everyone would just totally overwhelm an already overwhelmed system.

Yep. Just like a pregnancy test.
You swab your nose, wait two minutes, plus for Chinese flu, minus for no Chinese flu.

I’m not advocating testing everyone.
I’m just wondering what the plan is to get back to normal.
Are we going to have new infected areas every few weeks or months?

None of this is going to help, you have to basically lock it down for 12-18 months... or you need a vaccine and that could take years and years to administrate.
So.... all of this is a waste of time.

That’s kind of the point I was making.

You sir or madam are incredibly ignorant.
First of all how is it possible to test "everybody" simultaneously? Think about it? If we were to test 100,000,000 people today, segregate out the positives and let the negatives go home, what happens if the people that tested negative on day one come in contact with someone waiting testing that is infected?
I want you to explain to me how it is possible to test everyone in the USA at exactly the same time.
