How does Professional Boxing exist anymore?

I remember the glory days of the heavyweights.
But in today’s society, how do we promote this brutal sport?
(WWE also)
I’m watching tonight.
Don’t know anything about the sport anymore.
But considering the outrage over football with rule changes etc. to protect players.
How are these sports not frowned upon?
I’m not making any judgements. Just asking?

Man has been competing in combat sports since the dawn of mankind. Piss on anyone that would try and stop or shutdown a combat sport

There is no boxers union to sue the WBA and WBC over concussions.

I just don’t understand how people think running/getting run into by brick walls repeatedly for a decade... with your head...would be perfectly fine

“They” are doing it in football.
Why not boxing?
That boxer from Louisiana May never be the same again.
Paying to watch two human beings beat the shite out of each other, just doesn’t seem right anymore.

I'm a boxing and MMA fan but have regrettably thought the same thing. Especially in the past 10 years or so.
But WWE... c'mon.

Wrong board
Probably, but I thought the question was bigger than sports.

After watching that Wilder vs Fury fight last weekend I can honestly reply boxing judges are the biggest weakness at this point in time.
It's now become a shite show if epic proportions.

WWE acknowledged CTE and made rule changes way before the NFL did. Outlawed chair shots to the head after Benoit snapped

Sorry...I was thinking MMA. ( the fights in the fence)
I really am that detached from the sport.
Tonight is the first time I’ve watched boxing in years.

It was right a couple decades but now it’s magically wrong?

Yea.
It was ok to smoke on airplanes a couple of decades ago too.
Not long before that it was ok to throw the Christians to the lions.

I can’t argue with that! :)

If boxing had more definitive outcomes and didn’t rely on human judgement to determine winners (thereby fostering so much corruption) it would still be going on strong.

I saw something the other day where the first sanctioned bare knuckle boxing in many decades is happening in Wyoming.
Vice video on YouTube if you want to check it out.

I really don’t want to.
I know nothing about this sport anymore.
But this fight should have been called in the last round.
Also, Lomachenko is holding back with his right hand.
