How Does Impeachment Stop Confirmation Hearing? SIAP

So I hear Nancy saying another impeachment isn't off the table in order to stop Trump from putting through another Supreme Court nominee. So how does that work? Does it somehow preclude Trump from nominating someone or the Senate from confirming him/her? Or do they just think with the distraction of an impeachment hearing, Trump won't be able to push through a nominee in time? I'm confused on the Dims strategy. Thanks, I'll hang up and list3en.

The senate must deal with the impeachment before SCOTUS nomination by law I believe.

It doesn't. But 90% of her base thinks it will slow down the process so she says stupid things like this and the 10% that know just keep their mouths shut as the base gets riled up.

It’s doesn’t legally, just more pathetic garbage by the Dems “a president being impeached can’t appoint a SCOTUS justice!!”

Serious question, what law is that?
Please quote it. Learn me something.

Mitch should do a confirmation vote the very second they start impeachment proceedings. After the way they treated Kavanaugh they can eat shite.

So they aren't going to get a 2/3rds vote so that ought to take about 5 minutes.
A nonserious stunt should not be treated seriously.

My only thought is that they want to impeach without a trial and get the impeachment to the Senate before the confirmation floor vote to delay.

Fanciful wet dreams for the Left.
There was no crime the last time the Dems tried this.
Another impeachment circus ? Not ever gonna happen. Everyone will see through this charade.
EVERYONE.

It has to go thought the Judiciary Committee first. This is where the made for TV circus will be conducted. It will get approved there likely with a 15-14 approval to proceed to a floor vote. McConnell will then bring it to a floor vote were the nominee will be approved.

It's a bluff. Another Impeachment will derail their chances even more for the Presidency.

An floor vote on a judicial nominee can still take place during an impeachment trial in the Senate. It will take about 30 minutes. McConnell can schedule the vote any way he likes.
But speaking of impeachment, what are the articles of impeachment this time?

Impeachment! with less than a month and a half to go before the election

Actually, there's no need for a judiciary committee hearing to confirm.
Mitch could call for a straight up vote. This could all be done in 2 weeks.
Buckle up.

You are correct. However McConnell will oblige the GOP members on the Judiciary Committee to rile up the GOP base to get some donations flowing in.

Impeached for fricking what this time? The bitch needs to be censored with prejudice and told to shut the frick up!

If it is anything like last time, Nancy will dick around and hold off on appointing managers (prosecutors) and officially delivering charges to the Senate.
And if that happens, the cocaine turtle can tell her to frick right on off. Doubly so since she has fricking said outright it is a tactic to delay a confirmation.

The children think it would slow it down.
Turtle should immediate call a floor vote on the nomination without any hearings. bada bing, bada bang

I think their will be two articles:
1. Trying to appoint a new SC justice before the election.
2. Ignoring RBG's dying wish.
You might notice neither of these are unconstitutional but that doesn't matter.
