How damaged will the FBI’s image be when this is all said and done?

Senior agents blatantly throwing cases and trumping up charges for political reasons. Trump is going to take down the FBI with their own investigation and his twitter account.

This is why Trump has to get re-elected. There isn't enough time in one term to get these things completed. If he were to serve only one term, it would not only go back the way it was, it would be worse. Trump's re-election is going to be a huge priority.

FBI was started by j Edgar Hoover

Other than the publicity they used to get for catching serial killers it’s always been a rogue political agency

For instance they lobbied at the state and federal level for RICO statutes which are IMO unconstitutional

Before or after he repeals ACA?

The FBI will be just fine despite what the Orange one tweets.

Grand juries have been bastardized from what they were historically intended. And special prosecutors, now special counsels are an issue completely onto themselves. Frankly, the entire federal criminal justice system is concerning. As are the FBI and intelligence community.

It just kills me how supposed conservatives aren't disgusted by all of this.

Ill ban bet you right now that if we looked at a poll about America’s confidence in the FBI today and their confidence in them a year from now that it will be lower. Their reputation is about to take a deservedly huge hit.

"Tatters".

Sidepoint. It's going to be interesting to see who votes to renew the FISA Court, given the dirty laundry of that FBI-paid for Trump Dossier lying on the field.

This is the same group of people whose idea of fighting terrorism is to create conspiracies and then arrest those whose involvement was due the goading and/or influence of an informant. I have as much trust in the FBI as I do the NSA or CIA, which is none.

Well if they’d quit doing shady and sometimes downright illegal bullshite they wouldn’t be done with.

I just want to be able to trust that Federal law enforcement and other agencies are doing the right thing. I know it will never be perfect but it is very scary to think of Federal agencies running amok on a whim or for political purposes. I honestly don't care if its a republican or a democrat that gets it right, just want it to be fixed. Will we ever see an America where our government does the right thing? I'm disappointed in all of this shite.

From Mueller to his BFF Comey to include 8 years of Obama's work, I would say their reputation is shot for years.

There is an existing saying regarding grand juries where only the prosecution is presenting evidence with no defensive council present.

you can even get an indictment against a ham sandwich before a grand jury
