Governor Hochul Signs Gun Safety Legislation Strengthening Bans on Realistic-looking Imitation Weapons Used to Commit Crimes
quote:
"My top priority as governor is keeping New Yorkers safe, and that means cracking down on devices used to commit crime," Governor Hochul said. "Restricting these realistic-looking devices will ensure misleading and potentially dangerous devices are off our streets, keeping kids, law enforcement and all New Yorkers safe."

Are they banning spray paint as well?

How do these people even keep a straight face when they say this ridiculous stuff?

Exactly. This is how fricking stupid and useless their ideas are.

Keeping people safe by banning completely non-lethal objects that look like lethal objects?
"Yeah, it could break the skin and cause a really nasty infection!"

According to data released by the Office of the Attorney General, there have been at least 63 shootings in New York State as a result of individuals mistaking imitation weapons for real firearms, eight of which have resulted in fatalities, and hundreds of crimes have been committed in New York City with imitation weapons.
This doesn't seem like a problem that requires a solution to me, if these were "imitation weapons" being used to commit a crime. Are we trying to push criminals to use more REAL guns instead for their pursuit of criminal acts?

Don’t overthink it. You’ll go insane.

If she wants to keep New Yorkers safe, she should try keeping the scum bags committing crimes in jail.

Please don’t let these fools stereotype all people from NY. I’m from upstate and nobody gives a crap about gun violence. They are more worried about Indians trying to buy land and make casinos.

The only way to stay safe in Blue Cities is to leave, or don't go!
