Star shaped or bastion designed forts were "invented" by Michelangelo, thats some wide band width individual there.
If you look at some of the forts built in the 1700s in the Caribbean, not just the size, but the incredible topography they were built upon, and the logistics to get to the places with materials, its not too difficult to envision this fort being built over a century later.

That was fun. Wanna do another?
Mystery Of The Lost Underground City Of The Grand Canyon
Ever since an intriguing article reporting the discovery of a great underground citadel of the Grand Canyon appeared in the Arizona Gazette in 1909, scientists have debated whether the story is true or a hoax. Several alternative history authors and researchers, among them David Hatcher Childress believe the discovery did occur and this is yet another archaeological cover-up.
Yellow Journalism? Maybe, maybe not.
In defense of Liberator, there are many "stories" like this that keep us wondering if we are told the truth about our history. This region of the Grand Canyon being off limits to us pleebs, to this very day does not help quell some of the inquisitive minds.
Lie about things and we start questioning everything. As well we should.
I don't expect much, if any discussion on this, just sayin.
A thorough investigation

Next you'll be trying to convince us the 4/5 recreation of the STAR FORT CONDE ( Fort Charlotte in Mobile) was built by midget aliens.

1846 isn’t that long ago. We were pretty good at building stuff in 1846. In just a few short years we were building the Brooklyn bridge and Panama Canal.
David McCullough has outstanding books on both. How we built the Brooklyn bridge will truly blow your mind.
On the other hand - aliens.

Work began on the Eads bridge over the Mississippi in 1867

Construction continued through the Civil War using Confederate POW labor.

Literally the only reason the Grand Canyon one remains a mystery is because the area is off limits to explorers. I doubt the existence of an ancient city there, but it seems silly that our government actively prevents archaeologists from examining an area where remote sensing via satellite isn’t really sufficient for adequate exploration.

What’s the stated rationale here?

They are going to use it as a reeducation camp for Trump voters and/or non vaxers

Yep and I believe "mis-information / dis-information" is as old as time itself.
I just hope, in my lifetime, we get answers,,. strike that. I would just like to just have access to the truths OF THIS WORLD that my fellow human beings OF this world can afford.
For example;
I do an internet search for this topic above, (as it is a perfect illustration), and I would EXPECT to be given the actual FACTS! If someone wrote it, in a paper, not really that long ago, 1909, somebody has to know something to satisfy a "Fact checker", right. Not much to ask.

Dirty humans would spoil the environment. Our "public lands" are off limits to anyone without a Need-to-Know reason.

Two excuses are given:
1. That the environment in that area is very fragile and that human travelers would endanger the ecosystem.
2. That the area is too remote and rugged for adequate search and rescue in the event hikers get lost.

Pretty much the same thing said of OUR world's 5th largest CONTINENT.
But that need-to-know reason would be more of WHO you know.

About 90% of the shite written about the west from that period is made up bullshite written to sell books and newspapers.
Even if one was to do research on the grand canyon where the frick would you start?
That's a massive area and it would be ignorant to just let people go dig because of some fricking article from 1909.

Here you go buddy, here is why they built it there
quote:
Fort Jefferson was built to protect one of the most strategic deepwater anchorages in North America. By fortifying this spacious harbor, the United States maintained an important “advance post” for ships patrolling the Gulf of Mexico and the Straits of Florida. Nestled within the islands and shoals that make up the Dry Tortugas, the harbor offered ships the chance to re– supply, refit, or seek refuge from storms. The location of the Tortugas along one the world’s busiest shipping lanes was its greatest military asset. Though passing ships could easily avoid the largest of Fort Jefferson’s guns, they could not avoid the warships that used its harbor.

It's the 10 percent that matters and this was a huge story, at the time. Not just there but further. The article says as fact the who, what and even where. It provides exhautive detals and pictures.
Bottom line and end of story is the Smithsonian Institute.
That big secret CONTINENT is a different story.

If you know the WHERE go for it and prove it. It's not like the place is area 51 and controlled.
For all our sakes go ahead and wonder around out there and die of exposure.
