I think we’re definitely using this as an excuse to limit the influence of Russia/China in South America. Destroying established drug routes/deep state money is a secondary benefit.

Which I support.

I think you just may be right, if nothing else it is a big factor in all off this.

Yeah. They use this oil avenue to prop up Cuba. If Trump turns the corner there with a favorable government, maybe Cuba's days will be numbered.

No, your definition is inaccurate. No American lives lost. But if the Venezuelan people want to rise up and take back their country, are we to say no?

Monroe, he’s one of the 46 presidents who didn’t sign everything with an auto pen, right?

You buried the lede. THIS should have been the subject topic!

I hope this is true. As I have made abundantly clear on this forum, I am totally opposed to these regime change operations because of the unforeseen blowback that inevitably follows.

Yet if it indeed is Trump’s strategic goal to lessen America’s global military footprint to focus primarily on protecting American interests in the Western Hemisphere, this would certainly align with Trump’s MAGA agenda. The main problem here is the biggest obstacle to seeing such a plan come to fruition will be the neocons in the GOPe and even in Trump’s own administration.

C’mon on: let’s get real. Machado is the pre-chosen candidate of deeply embedded interests in the West and was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize to prove it.

I certainly wouldn’t claim that Machado does not have widespread support among many Venezuelans. Yet if Maduro is ousted and replaced by Machado, let’s don’t pretend it is totally organic.
