This quote by one of the great authors of the 20th century seems to describe the current political and cultural climate in the United States.

Was watching Harry Potter with the kids tonight. One of the later releases. I can see why the left hates Rowling.

Someone posted this the other day, but Chesterton wrote that you shouldn’t take down a wall, until you know why it was put up.

Tolkien is a towering figure of conservatism. Too many view him as a simple fantasy master, but when you closely interpret and analyze the themes of his legendarium, they are:
1) the existence of a moral order beyond the world's substance
2) the superiority of established order and inherited customs over untested revolutionary remaking of society.
3) living things have a spiritual worth that science without faith cannot maintain/provide
4) moral objectivism
5) mankind is highly fallible

Absolutely.
He was a very wise man.

Totally agree with the OP but I’d just like to add, I’m too drunk to taste this chicken

Why, was the movie openly TERF?
Rowling is far left one everything besides the idea that a man can be a woman. Open borders? More welfare? Critical race theory? She supports it all.
