Last week, my son made an amazing comment "Dad, I have been on this earth for 30 yrs and I have never seen an act of racism"....And he is very aware of the current racial situation, and a independent political advocate.... I thought about it, and I have to agree, that I have also not witnessed racism as the world has portrayed.
I have black friends that are awesome! I also have white friends that are not so awesome..... Why is the LEFT so determined to blame the RIGHT for all of the racism!
It's all about who is GOOD!...not the color of the skin!

Can't wait to see a thread populated by 25-75 year old white males from Louisiana who will all claim never to have seen one.

In.

In the South? No...not really. I’ll hear some people being racist but it really isn’t a common occurrence. But the north....ohhh those northern folks are racist as frick.

Strange how that works.

I have.

Instance 1: In my mid-teens we were moving from Florida to Texas. We stopped at a hotel in Mississippi and a well-dressed black man asked if there were any available rooms and was told no. My dad, who wasn't nearly as well dressed, waited for the other man to leave, then asked the same question and was told yes.

Instance 2: My wife (Filipina-American) was asked by some dipshit German hair stylist (in Germany) if she was a mail-order bride. She showed great restraint by not killing him.

Your son is full of shite
I don’t think racism is a huge problem anymore, but I’ve witnessed blatant racism - from blacks as well as whites - hundreds of times. Hell, I’ve seen David Duke give a speech in which he goes on and on about racial purity and the inferiority of blacks.

Surely your son watched the news when Central Park Karen tried to use that dickhead’s race against him.

Like when celebrities who never met me say I'm a bad person because I'm white?

Yeah.

The son was born the year David Duke ran for Governor. He doesn't remember that one.

I was one of a handful of poor white kids at a mostly black elementary school. I learned what racism was at a very early age and was checking knuckles daily in the third grade. Middle school was no better. Ended up at a private HS after being dismissed from public school for fighting.

Screw it though, it prepared me well for the Marines. I wouldn't change a thing.

I experienced racism daily for years. Where the hell does the OP live? I'll relocate my family there tomorrow.

NO! I can honestly say as I was growing up, I never witnessed an act of racism against People of Color. My parents wouldn't put up with it........and my neighbors wouldn't either. Here's the kicker. I've lived most of my life in the deep deep south. I was taught that it was not only un-Christian......it was (and is) just plain wrong.

Never have I been so proud of my Christian faith (and city ) as when Katrina hit NOLA. My town organized to receive and care for hundreds and hundreds of traumatized and exhausted people of all color, especially our black brothers and sisters. People of all color and ethnic background gathered together shoulder-to-shoulder to feed, provide a warm bed, and console the frightened and terrorized victims of Katrina.

There is so much good in America. The MSM just refuses to broadcast it. They'd rather divide us than show the goodness dwelling in the hearts of Americans.

Blatant racism yes. Not so obvious racism... yes.

I would say that I have witnessed some racism the other way also. All in all they are few and extremely far between. 99.9999% of my interactions with black people have been just like any other. Now, I don't hang out in the hood.

We are in a pretty nice neighborhood. Our 3500 sq ft home is on 2 acres. The black couple across the street have a 6500 or so sq ft house. Their neighbor is a black couple and their home is probably 7500 sq ft. They both have kids in high school now and have friends over.

Never had any issues with any of my neighbors. Guy across the street I speak to every week and know him quite well. His wife has offered to watch our 3 1/2 year old son a few times so we can go to dinner.

I've often wondered how their kids reconcile our neighborhood and our local police vs what they see on TV in a few cities. Must be hard to be a black parent at times.
