My father in law. Lives in Athens, Ga retired as a principal. Voted for Obama first and second time. He slowly started to come around in Obama’s second term and voted for Trump in 2016. Doesn’t agree with everthing he does but shakes his head at the way education and the country was heading. Was anti-2nd amendment until I took him to the range and let him shoot. He had a blast and bought his first gun shortly thereafter. Also used to drive a KIA Soul until I let him drive my truck one time and traded it in the next week for a Ram 1500, I’m slowly bringing his redneck side out

Persuasion requires that the other person believes they arrived at it on their own. So you do it by slyly introducing evidence and then you pretend they discovered it. If they are impervious to evidence, than they are a Progressive and that’s that.

Several including myself. I simply grew up and realized most liberals are looking for excuses and conservatives are looking for solutions. The ones I converted just took the time to listen to conservative logic and reason, it was very satisfying to see them change, 2nd only to someone finding salvation.

I've seen one converted but I didn't convert him, the system did. I was out of college for a couple of years when one morning this long haired young man was hired as an Industrial Engineer. It wasn't long before we began to discuss politics. He was left and I was right. I told him,your Dad has been making your payments all your life. I told him, wait until you make a few paychecks,buy a house, and see how much money the gov't takes, then you will change. We both left that company, but a few years later I ran into him. I asked him if he was still defending the government. He looked at me and said, those thieving son of a bitches.
