Have we spared the rod too much in this country?

Seriously. Is this the generation that's never felt a spanking?

Trophy generation. Everything is given to them whether they have earned it or not.

Says the person with a quote about Robert E. Lee in his signature. The man's statues are probably the nation's largest participation trophies.

It's idiots like you that almost make me wish he never surrendered and used guerilla tactics in the end.

Once in a while when I see a person in their 20s who doesn't know how to act in the workplace, or how to drive responsibly, or in general how to act in public, I remember my friends in the 1990s saying "We're not going to spank our children."

walking with my daughter yesterday to pick up my son from football practice, some guy at the park was huffing at his boy, looked like he was about 5 and being a complete brat,'you can act like that around your mother, but your not gonna act like that around me, you just sit there and time out blah blah blah!'

The kid was acting completely spoiled too, I just looked at my daughter and said 'he's telling him he can act like that to his mother? no wonder that boys all fuked up'

Likely they're divorced, still no excuse to let the kid be disrespectful, seems parents are pansies these days, but so is most of the country.

I'm mid thirties. But have been working most life.

Have you really never seen anyone in their 30s, 40s, 50s, or 60s act inappropriately in the work place, or public in general? You truly believe this is a millennial issue?

Anybody is capable of being an arse in public, but I see many times more of that type of behavior today than I saw 10 years ago, from the 19-year old weaving his POS through lanes of traffic and endangering everybody because he's apparently more important than them, to the guy in his late 20s in my office who is too ignorant to know how ignorant he is, and makes sure we all know that.
