That is without the proposed reparations cash payments lol.

quote:

Newsom, a Democrat in his second term, proposed no major tax increases for individuals or spending cuts across the state's most important programs, including those impacting public education, health care and homelessness. His plan would cut spending by about $10.6 billion — about $1 billion more than what he proposed in January — while covering the rest of the deficit through a combination of borrowing and delaying some spending while shifting other expenses to different sources.

Idiots have been telling me the last few years how Cali has a surplus and is in much better shape than the rest of the country.

Don’t worry they will do reparations and then cry to Fedgov (us the taxpayer) to bail them out. And we will….

It’s all a huge wealth distribution scheme

I thought it went from surplus to $32billion deficit. That's hard to do unless you are just giving stuff away......oh wait.

That’s why Rs need to covertly support reparations in California. Let their economy implode. Let people see roads and infrastructure fall into further disrepair

Is there some sort of requirement that they must remain California residents to receive payment? What’s to stop them from receiving the money and immediately leaving the state?

Don't worry you, I mean the Federal government will bail them out. Just like NYC and Chicago's unions....

There is a reason the support is lock step.

What's to discuss? Surely you don't expect a surplus in a Democrat state?

It went from a 20 billion deficit to 30 billion deficit so its 10 worse, thats where the number comes from.

They have milked Calpers so badly that it will never be solvent, just gets worse each year and they jerry rig the numbers worse. Pretty soon they will be where chicago is, they cant afford to keep current cops because they are paying so much to retirees and lying about the projections of the returns on the fund year after year.

That’s more or less a problem everywhere you look. There are few exceptions. This country, it’s states and municipalities all spend too much money. It’s sad.
