You know since he likes to lob his opinion on immigration from behind the Vatican walls, I figured this would be right up there with him calling out priests who violated altar boys.

Has he weighed in on the situation?

He's a globalist progressive puppet and he is destroying any shred of credibility or righteousness the catholic church had left.

The Pope just may be the anti Christ so he’s probably thrilled over the new law.

No he's too busy condemning walls and capitalism, while he's sitting on a mountain of wealth protected by walls.

I have never been more ashamed and embarrassed to have been babtised and raised in the Catholic Church. If there is in fact a higher being he/she certainly would not endorse the bullshite coming out of Rome today. .......or as it turns out the last 50 years.

He is too busy sheltering pedophiles to think about abortion.

Why yes, in fact he has

LINK

quote:

Francis encouraged politicians to defend the unborn for the common good, saying that the young bring hope and a future to society.

The pope decried "their killing in huge numbers" as undermining "the foundations of the construction of justice, compromising the proper solution of any other human and social issue".

LINK

quote:

In one of his harshest criticisms of abortion, Pope Francis has compared the procedure to “hiring a hitman to resolve a problem”.

This Pope, like every other Pope since abortion became an issue, is staunchly and fervently pro-life. Because he’s, you know, an orthodox catholic. Weird right?

This board

There isn’t a single orthodox catholic stance not held by the current Pope.

The obsession with the guy on this board is bizarre. He’s an orthodox catholic with certain beliefs about local politics shaped by his life in a corrupt second world country.

So. After one state did and another state tried to spell out that one can get an abortion up to and including being in labor...…..and two different politicians articulated that simple mental health reasons could be the soul validation for one...……...The pope comes out with a relatively boiler plated statement against abortion in general?

That's just comical.

Let’s ignore for a second the fact that the Pope has literally called abortion genocide and a crime against humanity during his time as the pontiff: What would you have a religious leader from Argentina and residing in Italy do about an regional law in the United States?

How harsh should his language be before he can no longer be the ire of your thinly veiled catholic hatred?

This board is off the deep end when it comes to this guy.

Well. The pope has a fricking LOT to say about issues that are going on in Europe and the USA and he hasn't been very fricking veiled about it.

I mean, it ain't like I'm saying the dude went pro-choice on us.

Well, it doesn't need to be harsh to at least specifically say, "Holy shite...…..they're seriously talking about abortion in the last couple of weeks for NON physical reasons!!!!"

I mean. Ya know. Since the Catholic Church's abortion position in general makes me look like Nancy Pelosi....

Well. I very rarely comment on him here. But since you bring it up. I think he's a catastrophe for the Catholic Church but not for the reasons specifically the board talks about.

Bottom line. The Pope is supposed to be the Church's religious leader. RELIGIOUS leader. Yet, 90% of the time he's in the news, he sounds indistinguishable from Elizabeth Warren(other than on Abortion).

I couldn't even seriously make a guess at any prior Pope's politics before this one. And that's as it should be.

IF he wanted to be an agrarian reform leader, he picked the wrong profession.

I stand corrected but its generic. He threw a bone to the masses. I am glad he finally said something but its underwhelming IMHO.

Word of advice. It’s time to go find a good local church that is non denominational. Globalists have infiltrated every denomination on the globe and they are now “religion”. The very same “religion” that Jesus was against.

Denominations aren’t for the worship of Jesus and the furthering of his kingdom. Most are outright mouthpieces for liberalism while not using a literal interpretation of the Bible.

I think this board latches onto certain statements and runs with them with no context and excluding most of what he actually says. Most threads about him, including this one, end up with someone posting a link to a full transcript or other statements that essentially destroy the original premise and the thread slowly dies off. For instance, several years ago there was the big hullabaloo about him “breaking with churc history” and saying everyone can go to heaven. Turns out he didn’t say that at all and, HUGE SHOCK, believes the same thing about who goes to heaven as every other Pope in history.

He talks about abortion, contraception and Jesus A LOT, that’s just not what people talk about after the fact.

Most of his political statements are derived from a lifetime in a political structure that is unimaginable to western industrialized nations. Most of the world more closely resembles his experience, not ours. His addressing political corruption and social justice sounds like American SJW only in isolation.

The fact is there’s a huge difference between a spoiled American SJW twat bitching about the patriarchy and an Argentinian decrying the isolation of wealth to a genocidal elite few.

I'm not a expert on Popes but he does seem to be more political than all previous Popes combined that I remember.

Apart from excommunicating political leaders who support abortion he really can’t do anything else but denounce it. And in reality, excommunication has traditionally been left to regional cardinals.
