Colin Kaepernick is one of eight notable Americans being honored by Harvard University for contributions to black history and culture. The Hutchins Center for African and African American Research at Harvard will present Kaepernick, comedian Dave Chappelle and others with the W.E.B. Du Bois award on Oct. 11.

His jersey and other mementos have been added to a “Black Lives Matter” collection at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African-American History.

I don't have any G-rated comments to make except to say that I worry about our country's future when these types of individuals are 'honored' and 'enshrined' while hard-working, achieving everyday folks are called 'deplorables.'

It is why we need to start McCarthy Tactics to expel the Anti-Constitutionalist with permanent loss of citizenship

Being honored on largely false pretenses. Amazing.

What has he actually done to help the black community?

Why not Lebron if they want to honor an athlete? He's done orders of magnitude more than Kaep.

Dave Chappelle

Definitely worthy. He’s been calling for cooler heads to prevail since the election, and is supportive of Trump.

His opening monologue on SNL was great. He basically said (summed up) “I’m going to support the president and give him a chance, and you should too; as long as he continues gives us a chance.”

And as far as “black culture” goes, nobody has bridged the gap better. Maybe Dr. Carson, but he isn’t as “popular” as Chappelle.

Kaepernick, on the other hand, is the COMPLETE opposite. Nobody has done more damage to the cause than him, he makes it look foolish.

That’s just how difficult it is to find worthy people for this honor.

More than Obama did, though that’s not saying much.

He always seems to be getting loads of praise, yet no one ever lists his accolades.

My guess is because Lebron's IQ is only in the single digits. At least Kaepernick is rather intelligent.

There is a gorgeous Harvard grad that lives next door. If I was single I'd 'honor' her as well.

It saddens me that we live in a world where i am no longer allowed to speak this way in public. ill give you conservatives this: people have gotten crazy soft.

Honoring a self indulgent piece of shite.

He doesn't care about police brutality on blacks. He saw an opportunity to be a symbol of the victimhood movement and took it.

I wonder if they display the badges of the officers murdered by BLM.

What a joke
