The final nail in the Gwinnett County school system was when after the last election the long-time school superintendent was run out of office by the race warlords and woke mob. For 10 plus years there has been an increasing amount of "flight" out of Gwinnett County due to the increase in illegals and the influx of leftists screaming "diversity."

Gwinnett County is toast. Crime is rampant and the schools have gone to shite. It's on the fast track to becoming Dekalb and Clayton Counties.

Do they even report these anymore. I only see case number and those are BS BTW. You can take the home tests multiple times and get different results.

Yes. LDH puts it out every weekday.

The mask mandate is ridiculous but it’s one of the fastest growing counties in Atlanta and Georgia itself. The place might not have great politics but cost of living is low (compared to Atlanta) and schools are still great. Don’t kid yourself the area will continue to infill at a rapid pace

Yes for Illegal Immigrants and people who have been city of Atlanta residents who can no longer afford to live in the city and have to move to cheaper suburbs. Neither of these groups are going to improve schools or keep schools good.

Wilbanks ascended to superintendent when I was in GCPS and did amazing things for this county. What Everton Blair and his POS followers did to him was criminal. Calvin is just another progressive leftist from Seattle, hired to finish the job while Everton runs for state school super.

What has happened to this county in just two years is impressive, if you're a progressive leftist POS. Of course, the slow boiling of the frog has been going on for substantially longer.

Out of curiosity, do you live in Gwinnett? Because what you stated is about 20 years out of date.

yeah...that's literally the reason why it's toast. Because of the people that keep flooding in.

In my tiny little corner, the home sellers are long term residents who have been here 20+ years and moving to Jackson Co. The buyers are either investors who turn them into rentals or families that move in with like 7 adults all living under one roof, plus kids. The standarized test scores for the local elementary and middle school have fallen off a cliff in the last five years. We're blessed to be able to do private school or we'd have already tucked tail and ran too. It wasn't this way 5 years ago. The change has been rapid. East of Grayson, Tribble/Ozora area.

Funny you should mention that. It is Lemon Pepper Lou Williams' home town, and his mother still lives here. Sorry for that random fun fact. The point I really want to make is the new mega-neighborhood they are building nearby, called "Independence" if you want to look it up, has been selling the houses faster than they can build them, all starting in the $400's, big nice houses, great amenities, huge development. If you get stuck behind a schoolbus that drops off there, every single kid is non-white. It was weird to not see one single white kid on basically an entire schoolbus full of kids getting off there, in a very expensive neighborhood.

Why did you delete your comment? They wouldn't ban a fellow mod, would they?

You might as well head up to Jasper, Ellijay, or Blue Ridge.

Considering that my office is in Villa Rica and I like fly fishing, that Blue Ridge option up in Fannin County ain't looking too bad. Moving into the bowels of Atlanta is a big NO EFFING THANK YOU!

Blue Ridge is awesome. Totally understand your reasoning for city of Atlanta but things are changing here very fast and it's a much better option than Gwinnett will be long term.

Yesterday my handheld radio was turned on in my pocket by accident and started scanning. It stopped on 20 and I listened to two old gentlemen talking in thick appalachian accents. I tried talking back but my little handheld didn't make it up there. The one guy signed off with some funny name and a string of numbers, I guess his FCC number, and said Blue Ridge. But I looked up the channel and it's port operations and/or coast guard, so not sure how that works. This is my second to last random post of the day.

I'm not a mod.

And I deleted it because it was semantic hair splitting that wasn't really worth it. I went to HS with lou so am aware of his location during that era ha

Gwinnett was entirely different when I moved there 20 years ago. It has turned into a haven of liberal lunacy since then. Please don't blame me. I'm trying to keep it based in conservative policies, but if it fails I may bail to Hall or Forsyth.

It is amazing what has happened in Gwinnett in just the last 4 years. Went from Republican majority to Democrat lock beginning in the 2018 election with the 2020 election cementing the lock. And these are the left looney dems not the blue dog dems. School board, sheriff, DA, county commission all leftists (there is one based school board member left but would guess he will be gone after this election).

I think you are going to have to leave GA to get out of their reaches. I am looking hard and long at doing just that.
