Gun Sanctuaries - How would they go over?

If at some point the federal government passes gun bans, could states and cities declare themselves to be gun sanctuaries? They would not prosecute, nor report the possession or use of banned guns, so long as no crime was committed with said gun.
Any chance this could happen?

A SCOTUS case would get them overturned. 2nd Amendment cannot be infringed

The Fed won't and IF it happened there wont' be a need for state sanctuaries for guns.....there would be a war with the Fed and the ban would be overturned.....democracy in progress.

About as well as Chicago.

"Gun Sanctuaries" would actually have a stronger constitutional basis to override the supremacy clause than these immigration cities who are essentially sheltering criminals and invaders.

Sounds like a prime target for a false flag.

It could happen with widespread momentum.
It's known as soft secession by another name. This is not a shooting war mind you, but a gradual process of large masses of people ignoring the federal government.
You see the beginnings of it with sanctuary cities, sanctuary states and states ignoring drug laws.
Fred Reed just wrote about it HERE.

There is no prospect of escape by armed rebellion. The federals control the army, and history has shown that soldiers will as soon kill their fellow citizens as any other.
A more fruitful, if gradual, path to freedom is to ignore the strictures of intrusive federals, to engage in passive resistance. Washington does not have the manpower to enforce alien laws upon the entire nation. We see the beginnings of this laudable disentanglement in the seven states that have made legal the use of marijuana. Should these states remain resolute, and refuse to allow their police to be used as Quisling Pinkertons against their citizenry, they may well prevail. The avowed resistance of the government of California to the imposition of laws alien to it is perhaps as important as the battle of Yorktown. As goes California, so goes the nation.
In a country deeply at odds with itself the best course may be separation, first of laws, then of administration, and finally of sovereignty. It need not be an uneven fight. As Washington can withhold federal funds from the states, so can the states withhold taxes from the federals, as California has threatened.

We already have gun sanctuaries....it's called anywhere the 2nd Amendment protects gun rights.

This is comparing apples to oranges.
Sanctuary cities protecting illegal immigrants are protecting people who are violating immigration law passed by the Congress of the United States within the boundaries established by the United States Constitution, and therefore are wrong.
Sanctuary cities for gun owners would not, and should not, be necessary as any law to confiscate guns passed by the Congress and signed into law by the President would be illegal, as it would violate the second amendment. If the Supreme Court upheld the illegal action, the people would fight it out and any sanctuary cities established for this purpose would be right.

I think you have all of it backwards.
There will never be gun bans in The U.S.A.,but they might start putting anti gun people in special camps."for their own protection".

These anti gun people are so fricking stupid.
If you have 2 groups of people, who can't live together,1 is heavily armed, the other doesn't have any weapons.
You round up the MFers without any weapons, and take them away.
It's easy, economical, effective, and very non violent, because those people don't have guns.

If gun bans occur, it will be at the local and state level. Those will be challenged all the way to SCOTUS, of course. But gun bans are absolutely not coming from Congress.
