Grassley/Johnson Demand McCabe Text Messages–FBI has Refused Production for 2 years

Today Grassley and Johnson send a letter [pdf here] asking FBI Director Chris Wray to stop stonewalling congressional oversight and provide the text messages. Within the letter the senators outline a few examples highlighting how McCabe and Page were coordinating FBI leaks to their media allies during a key and critical time-frame:
Those 2016 text messages were during the time when an internal argument was taking place about the need for McCabe to recuse himself from the reopening of the Clinton email investigation because he tried to bury the Weiner laptop emails for 28-days in October.

Wouldn't the feet dragging be considered obstruction of justice? Can we start firing and charging these unelected bureaucrats for it?

Trump has 2 weeks to drop everything. How about this, any request from GOP Senator gets approved and released in 24 hours...why hasnt that been done ? Trump can approve and release anything

Because I think all of this is slow walked for a grand stall. Trump was pissed on Rush when hearing this for sure. And now they are saying the unmasking wasn't illegal?

As much as what they did was wrong and used to get Flynn...I really think it would be hard to get them on this.
I think the unmasking will be "used" as addition evidence in the big case.
Why go after them on something that is 50/50 when you have a bigger case that's 100/0?

Yeah but who will charge them? The doj is in league with the other agencies. Permanent government is untouchable. We may as well be a monarchy with corrupt permanent government assholes ruling over us.
Want to be a politician who doesn't submit to the permanent government rule? Look at what has happened to trump.

I have already thought about this and agree with you. The only thing is by this means they have seemingly whittled away them doing anything wrong. I e....the don't arrest Comey & McCabe they can get them on bigger stuff...
It is BS you get them on everything and anything. Clinesmith only has 1 count one charge and it is weak. Where is that going? 0-6 months prison time? If they didn't arrest the fat cats now they won't after the election even if Trump wins.
The govt institutions come first and no one cares but us. Andrew McCarthy-go read his articles he is saying move on nothing will happen arrest wise.

Trump could literally walk in the building and take any document he wanted. He could call over there and demand all documents released by noon.

bingo! the president COULD do a lot more than just bitch about it. he’s tried to work within the system and it’s gotten him nowhere. it’s time he went postal!! why wray still heads the fbi is mind boggling! why barr hasnt jerked a knot in his azz is just as bad.
