They don't care about our military.

A government shutdown will be devastating to our military...something the Dems care very little about!

I hope it shuts down and -unlike the previous President- this President doesn't do everything possible to purposely make it effect as many people as possible. I hope his response is quite the opposite.

Dems and big-government GOPe'rs would shite themselves at seeing the average American surviving quite well without whatever little bureaucratic fiefdom gets temporarily shuttered.

Current Whip is 36 N with two R crossovers. However, there is 1 D Y.

A shutdown has little to no impact on the military. I hope nobody here is dumb enough to believe it does.

The threat by the Democrats to shut down the government reminds me of the scene in Blazing Saddles where the sheriff tells the crowd to stop or he'll shoot the . . .

LINK

Why would the party of small government cave to the threat of the party of big government when it threatens to shoot itself. Please don't throw me in that briar patch.

Kaine and Warner are "No" after both supported the December CR. There are only 12 undecided Ds at this point and at least 11 are needed to pass the CR.

Take this opportunity to eliminate "non-essential" positions?

My company does not have the luxury of "non-essential" emplpyees.

I too hope it shuts down, but the lib media will bring out all the chicken littles claiming the sky is falling.

Bluffing or will they shut it down?

If the Dims were in control they would shut it down because they would control what gets shut down.

So I'll go with no on them shutting her down.

Would be the first time ever for a government shutdown when one party owns the house, senate, and presidency

FTR I don't really give a shite about a shutdown

Probably the only people that do give a shite are those who will be personally impacted, and those that hope to spin it as a "win" for their side.

Would be the first time Dems have refused to compromise in order to get some of what they want...oh wait...

Would be the first time Dems don't want to do their jobs because of unauthorized squatters...oh wait...

Damn it

The compromise immigration reform bill had a whip count of 56 votes with many undecideds at last count. It likely could have passed, but McConnell abandoned it when Trump came out against it.

Likely?

Maybe?

Maybe not?

Anyway, it's Congress' job. Stop blaming Trump.

If he vetoes a good compromise then make him do just that.

Congrees! DO YOUR JOB!

I fully agree, and didn't mean to imply I was blaming Trump. I was blaming McConnell for not pursuing a bill that had strong bipartisan support simply because the President said he was against it. Make him put his money where his mouth is.
