"All professional sports are welcome here for practicing and for playing," DeSantis said at a news conference in Tallahassee on Wednesday. "What I would tell commissioners of leagues is, if you have a team in an area where they just won't let them operate, we'll find a place for you here in the state of Florida."
Last month, Florida's DeSantis had deemed sports "essential services," allowing WWE and UFC events to take place in the state without fans. The Tiger Woods-Peyton Manning vs. Phil Mickelson-Tom Brady golf match will be in Hobe Sound on May 24, also without fans.
The Miami Heat reopened their facility Wednesday for players to undergo voluntary, individual workouts. Twelve players went in for voluntary, socially distanced workouts, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
"We want to have you here," DeSantis added. "We want to have the basketball practicing again. We would love to have the Major League Baseball."
Vince McMahon held strong with his connections in Florida and has been safely operating out of Orlando this entire time. The UFC was next as they are operating safely in Jacksonville. so it looks like others will soon follow. kudos to Florida as well as other states like Georgia, Arizona, etc. who are taking similar steps as well.

Florida is a fine state to play football in because you can visit the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country.

Michigan governor: Any Detroit Tiger, Lion, Piston, Wolverine, Spartan or Red Wing player that attempts to travel to any other state will immediately be detained and incarcerated for a period of not less than 5 years. Am I clear?

I'm surprised he hasn't moved WWE out of high-tax Connecticut and down to Florida. He's long been a Republican (Linda was SBA Administrator for a time) and WWE isn't a regional promotion anymore.

Really? Are they blocking all pro players from Louisiana? Because they are still doing so on I-10
They're giant fake pussies just like The Republic of "I'm going to give you a week in jail for opening your hair salon" Texass

first, this is what america is supposed to be about - competition between the states. so libs, let's see how this experiment works out. you have your state locked down. fla is opening for sports. if libs are right, fla will drop off into the ocean, carry every person in the state with it, cause the oceans to rise and the earth to freeze or melt whatever is the crisis of the day.
second, GENIUS move from an economic standpoint.
third, how much would it burn up say, cali, if usc moved the program to fla so they could make the bama game?

I like what I see so far from DeSantis. Could he be POTUS material down the road?

Unless it rains, and then all bets are off.

WWE has been based out of that area for decades and considers NYC, and Madison Square Garden, to be its home base.
They’re also in the process of getting new offices there which will be extremely expensive.
Between the two of those, the company is unlikely to move until Vince dies and someone else, such as Steph and Triple H, take over completely.
