Mark Halperin on Newsmax today reported: Mitch McConnell and establishment Republicans reportedly don’t want to see Trump on the ballot in 2024. McConnell’s latest move in the senate may be about not only to convict the president but to pass with the majority something that would bar him from holding office again.

What's the constitutional mechanism to do that?

I mean...if they honestly thought they COULD be voted out, would the GOP even be attempting any of this? It's like a giant frick YOU to the GOP voter base knowing they can't do anything about it.

The least of their problems right now is Trump.

They don't care anymore. They're part of the uniparty and have already gotten enormous wealth from their positions.

Does Trump have any desire to run in 4 years? I really don't get this push from everyone to try to keep it form happening

The 14th Amendment bars the President from running again if he's been engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the United States. It only requires a simple majority vote, as well.

I really don't believe that. Mitch is smart enough to know that would be the end of the GOP.

Nice rampant speculation.

Just as fun from right wing sites.

Yep...This was the one shot. He could have been quiet. Why make that remark now. That fricker wasn’t worried about keeping the senate. They sold out all conservatives.

Now Trump gets to be Kingmaker from outside the party.
They cant stop him now.
They may kill him, but that will only make him a martyr.

At this point, it really doesn't matter what Mitch is currently working on.

How did he do that? Be specific.

Did democrats lose the right to run again when they were begging electors to vote for someone other than Trump in 2016? GTFO
