People belong to groups that they believe support their best interest. Calling people names is a common leftist tactic(all "ist" names). We as free Americans have the right to belong to any legal group. You may for one belong to The Closet Queens of America. That would be your business not mine. The Bill of Rights protects all of our freedoms, not just the ones the Democratic Party supports. I would also state the preamble of the Declaration of Independence mentions something about the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I guess the anti-gunners who mostly claim it is to protect children conviently do not corrolate that the "life" part would seem to oppose abortion.

I've owned guns my entire life (which were subsequently lost in several boating accidents) but never felt it necessary to join the NRA.

However, I finally joined last week. Did a 5-year membership for $140.

And I did it completely out of spite. I don't agree with everything they do but I was tired of being berated by the MSM for owning death machines.

the NRA is a lobbyist group, so being a member is literally like being a donating "member" Planned Parenthood.

y'all are children. it's like having a discussion with children. I'm not anti-gun. calling me anti-gun is like me calling you anti-government. I am for the amendment of the 2nd amendment.

you children of the NRA are taught that any change to the 2nd Amendment is taking away your rights. This is so much further from the truth.

I didn’t see the benefit of membership. Even lifetime members just get a cheap leather looking jacket. None of its tax deductible of course.

You think members join the NRA for fringe benefits?

first, let's agree that the context of the 2nd Amendment applied to us in the 1700s. Right?

When that was written, did our forefathers even know what a AR-15 (just for this example) could do?

I, like so many others, am simply suggesting that a bill be proposed with more specific language (that we can mostly agree on) to help ensure public safety.

Kind of like every other amendment? Sure. And obviously they didn't know about AR style weapons, just as they didn't know about cars, computers, electronic surveillance, etc. So what?

So where's your proposed specific language? Be specific as to what language you wish to change. I am highly skeptical that we can "mostly agree" on your proposed changes.

Just keep it generalized like the rest of the language and go from there. I mean, that's what we've done.

Hey, you know what's cool? How a huge investment firm can wave a magic wand by simply using terms like "responsible policies and practices" and change huge corporate by-laws.

You open to starting with the first and continuing on for every amendment? You know more specific language for every amendment?

Make slander and libel illegal? You can be held liable for it.

Specific wording to end citizenship for anchor babies? Was that the meaning of the 14th amendment? For foreigners to cross the borders to have a baby so they could be citizens and thus need their families to stay?

Bring back capital punishment that was deemed ok in the very time the Constitution was written? Isn’t that the opposite argument for 2nd amendment haters? Hanging was perfectly ok when the amendment was added. Why is it cruel now?

If you owe past due taxes you cannot vote? They can pull your passport for it why not voting?

Why is it so difficult for you to just say what specific changes you propose? We can't begin to evaluate your ideas if you are incapable or unwilling to clearly express them.

Damn, so you are saying NRA members are children for thinking any change to the 2nd amendment is taking away rights then propose a change to the second amendment that does just that! WTF? Did you think about that before you posted it?

Also, the founding fathers wrote the second amendment to not be specific on purpose and also added that phrase “shall not be infringed” on purpose.
