It's gonna be a fricked up economy when there aren't many blue collar jobs due to automation and not many white collar jobs due to AI. Gonna have a lot of young men with nothing better to do, and that's not good for a country.

My understanding is they negotiate every 6 years. Last contract said “no robots”. The terms were violated.

Jobs were automated. Some workers unemployed.

If this is correct, they’re fighting for more than money. They’re fighting for their jobs.

They want automation gone and to stay gone.

These are no longer blue collar workers. They are officially the greedy upper class that are striking for more.

Yeah, frick over tens of thousands or more so those dolts can get a raise for a job that can be automated. It's exactly the same as the people on this board asking their boss for a raise. Exactly.

Has there ever been not only more of a piece of crap president, but a piece of crap person with power?

Not saying this is directly his fault, but I'm sick and tired of one "unprecedented challenge" after another during this scumbag's presidency.

Average longshoreman makes over $100k. A lot of folks can’t identify with that and then tack on the demand for a 50+% pay increase over 5 years. Very few feel sorry for the longshoreman and even less so when supplies are choked and prices go up for the citizenry.

I'm surprised he didn't tone it down a bit for PR purposes. That guy is straight out of the 1970's.

Apparently the FBI has gone after him for various mob ties reasons. Even one case where his supposed mob accomplice was found dead.

They are ACCELLERATING Automation with this shite.

It started with automated kiosks in fast food places in Asia (try to find someone working the counter here). Now, cars drive themselves and the military has at least prototypes of smart drones that act as wingmen, but moving a fricking box from point A to point B... Of course. To use a tagline from old politician counts of past, "learn to code." Who the F wants to climb up a few hundred feet in a crane anyway?

Here's a tip, dickwads, your 8 year old doesn't need to grow up to do what daddy does.
