Pre- Big Bang

Before the Big Bang I usually go with the dinner and drinks combo. Some women though, you just have to talk dirty to them and they're ready to go, especially lonely housewives, but those aren't really miracles.

But tell us about your first time you didn't pay for it OP, I am curious if science can explain that miracle.

its a commentary about science.

Science is used by politicians to make policy that affects us all.

Like mask and jab mandates for example.

Yep. And religion has used similar authority to deny science as well.

But no one knows the origins of the universe. We only have the evidence of redshifting galaxies.

Make of that what you will, I guess.

I was looking for a place to post the below

When science starts to reconsider “miracles”…

quote:

Charlottesville Psychiatrists Challenge Official Reality Reincarnation, meaningful coincidences, and NDEs require a new paradigm.

Posted November 16, 2022 |

quote:

Psychiatrists are trained to distinguish between psychosis and reality. We are doing just that with the systematic study of human experiences that materialistic science has trouble explaining.

quote:

Scientism, which sees the universe as a logically knowable, predictable, controllable, and undirected process, has become a belief system, much like a religion, rather than continuing the basic intention of science—to systematically ask questions about how anomalies can be understood and used.

quote:

Synchronicity and serendipity are forms of meaningful coincidences. Their most common presentation involves a mental image or thought that matches an objectively observable event in the surroundings. The sheer number of these meaningful coincidences suggests that our minds are not as separate from our environments as suggested by scientific materialism

quote:

New Paradigms Needed

Scientism is not wrong. It is limited. The curiosity and openness to anomalies and their relevant data have always been part of the scientific approach to reality and need to be part of the new evolving science. The findings of NDEs, reincarnation, and synchronicity research require us to re-conceptualize human identity. NDEs suggest that people can be conscious when their brains are not functioning. What, then, is consciousness separate from the brain? Children who remember past lives are hinting at the possibility that some aspect of oneself survives bodily death. Meaningful coincidences suggest that we are imbued with untapped abilities while also being guided by currently mysterious forces.

Many mysteries yet to be explained

Be thankful to be able to ponder them

Are we talking about the methodology of Science?

It all comes down to faith at some point.

Mainly scientism used in place of religion

Filter bubbles bolster the science worshipper

Science is just a tool (an extremely important one) in pursuing the truth

It can only ever describe reality /truth. It cannot fully explain

Divine faith in the absence of evidence isn't the same as relying on assumptions in science that can and do change with knowledge.

Not disagreeing.

But none of us are in the labs building the computer models that are predicting the temperature 100 years from now.

So, many of us have faith that the humans working on this:

a) have got the models right

b) are reporting it accurately

What an excellent point, but the atheist are above it all, they don’t have faith!

The thing is they’re to dumb to know what their faith is in. But the have it too
