George Floyd died of a panic attack. He told the officers the truth, he couldn't breath
Posted by jimdog on 7/12/20 at 4:40 am1472
He also told them about his phobia and they ignored it since they are not medical pro's. Some one without claustrophobia cannot grasp the panic of being in a small and or confined space. Or even the person suffering the attack's perception of same. And it comes and goes. I have it. I won't go off into personal experience as it is none of anyone's business. But his anxiety attack induced a heart attack. He was not resisting the officer's per se, his body was in full panic mode. Lane was correct when he remarked about his strange behavior. He also had signs of other anxiety phobia's.
The drugs MAY have contributed to his panic but only as a contributing factor. Or maybe none at all. They certainly contributed to his being in the spot he was in legally. And this is not a defense of the police (nor Floyd) and their choke holds and other methods of restraint. Those things are for someone else to figure out. I would tend to say some of that is illegal and much is not necessary. But they can be in a tough spot.
Would George Floyd be alive if (A) he had not passed counterfeit or if (B) the police had not come after him? Yes. But he would also 100% be alive had he not had that anxiety attack.

C if he got in the car he would be alive
Good god
You don’t die of a panic attack from not being able to oxygenate
Also this whole notion that you can breathe if you are talking is bs. You can talk if you can breathe out. Then once all the air is gone (it choked like him), you can’t inhale anymore, hence he stopped talking
Try it yourself now

C'mon man. Hell if his mother wouldn't have birthed him this wouldn't have happened either. It's really all about those 8 minutes. That's what the jury will be assessing, whether that was a crime and if so to what degree - was that force justified or not. What led up to it will certainly be explored, but IMO the jury will ultimately decide whether the knee was necessary/justified, or whether Chauvin knew or should have known he needed to release. If they find that Floyd was under control and no longer a threat to resist, Chauvin's up a creek.

Terrible, pointless take.
quote:Irrelevant.

Chauvin kneeled on him for over 2 1/2 mins after he'd lost his pulse. It was evident to everyone on the scene (except Chauvin?) that Floyd was dead or at least in extremis. Ultimately that is the issue.

Good god
Good God, the local officials had to coroner shop to find one to come to a ruling they wanted.
I wonder how much he got PAID for that.
George owes a partial debt for his death to the thousands of gutter trash before him who lied about not being able to breathe.
I would not be surprised if "I can't breathe" is in some criminal's handbook for dealing with the police.
quote:Or maybe, just maybe he was lying? Did he also go by the name Agent Orange over in Zang Bang before he stepped on a land mine and lost his legs and vision?
He also told them about his phobia and they ignored it since they are not medical pro's.

Hey jimdog. Why don’t you let a 200 + lb man kneel on your neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. Maybe you die of a crushed airway or asphyxiation. Maybe that causes “anxiety” or “panic”.

you didn't read the transcript...
read it then come back with your Muh "but if"
quote:

dude...
read the transcript...
If Floyd is claustrophobic, then WHY was he operating a vehicle with other passengers? (when police arrived)
Jail cells make him claustrophobic...he has experience with them
he had a wad of fake 20s, but used a real 20 to buy cigarettes.
was high on Fetynol and Meth combination from what we have gathers thus far
said he couldn't breath about 20 times prior to even "getting into the back seat'...he resisted like crazy
he begged cops to let him lie down on the pavement, which they did....this is how he ended up on the other side of the vehicle and video went viral
paraphrasing.... "My face is gone, I am going to die"
Don't have to read that full transcript any more than I had to read the full Mueller Report. I know not to let my emotions get the best of me and to keep my eye on the most relevant aspects. This is only about whether Chauvin's force with the knee was justified or not. All the other jibber jabber is fodder for people who perhaps aren't familiar with the inner workings of a criminal trial. And that's ok, gotta talk about something I suppose.
quote:He was doing a lot of talking for a long time on that last breath. If he had simply gotten in the damn car instead of fighting them, oh wait, the cops were just supposed to let him go if he didn’t want to be arrested, right?
Also this whole notion that you can breathe if you are talking is bs.
quote:

ok
but I think it's about whether the video that we all saw, was actually what we think we were seeing...most concluded, the cop just killed him and appeared to be unphased and didn't mind being filmed
the transcript changes my perspective a great deal...
quote:
the cops were just supposed to let him go if he didn’t want to be arrested, right?
Heck no. Just get up off his neck and back once the dude's cuffed and on his stomach, thus not presenting any further risk of dangerous struggle. It's simply prudent, to avoid the possibility of what happened or what's alleged to have happened.
quote:
More like poor choices in life.
got into a discuss with a young white liberal yesterday
told me read color of law.
told me he was tired of hearing that black people choose to be poor...
I said no that's not what I said or suggested....but i did say, fatherlessness must be corrected...or nothing changes for black inner city people.
I call it self oppression...the cycle must be broken...
so yeah, bad choices keep self oppression alive and well
whites have nothing to do with another man's decision making...

Good stuff. You seem to have a firm grasp on the medical aspects of a panic attack.
