That’s pretty huge actually, considering how many people were begging Garret to run. If this is his hand picked guy….

I'm pretty plugged into politics and I can't tell you who the Democrat candidate is for an election in 4 months. But that person may damn well skirt by into the Governors mansion as the LAGOP again can't unite behind a candidate in a gimme election.

Garrett Graves was whipping votes for the debt ceiling deal, openly selling some provision that was total bullshite and actually meaningless.

I don't know much about Waguespack. But, Graves' endorsement hurts him in my eyes.

Graves voted for the debt ceiling lift not for 1 year but for 2 years as McCarthy caved as Speaker resulting in the Democrats pushing passage of the Senate bill

Graves is Uniparty

BEWARE Graves!

Ha! Some loons on the Poli board continue to prove to be batshit crazy and very much uninformed.

Graves is among the most respected members of Congress and has done an excellent job representing his district and LA.

It’s no coincidence he’s won re-election by a landslide multiple times. People like him and think he’s doing a great job. To suggest otherwise really is downright stupid. Almost offensive.

Why delay the inevitable? Louisiana is trending towards being as blue as a blueberry. What’s the point of fighting it?

No it isn’t. Nearly a GOP supermajority in both state houses. All GOP congressmen outside of the token NOLA district. Two GOP US senators. The Republican wins the state by nearly 20 points every Presidential election.

A fluke Governor doesn’t change that.

Waguespack was Jindal's COS in his first term, when he was actually effective and a good governor (and before he went to shite trying to be president).

The state would be well serve with him as governor.

He really would be. As a business owner, I really enjoyed working with him on issues that are meaningful. Was very impressed and always hoped he’d consider running one day since he was so effective and results oriented.

Both are RINO POS and should be disregarded. When the establishment hates you, you know that's the guy you need.

Couldn’t disagree more. I’ve dealt with both of them and saw nothing but true blue, Ronald Reagan conservative principles.

Shocking turn of events. . . Shocking I tell you.

Graves also negotiated this “bipartisan” debt ceiling bill wherein McCarthy caved to the democrats (cough Uniparty). Graves has always supported Waguespack. They’re friends with the whole country club set in BR that endorsed “conservative”judge Louise Hines Meyers. Somehow I also got on some relentless kind of “Women for Wags” email list where Graves’ wife hosts parties for Waguespack in Bocage. I could not be less excited about a gubernatorial candidate.

I think his campaign will be doomed to go the way of Jay Dardenne, which is the result of Baton Rouge people thinking they’re impressive to everybody else in the state.

Waguespack would be a less effective Bobby Jindal. He is also shill for Big Business. Which is central to Uniparty control, and why Graves is backing him. Landry may be a bit of a wild card and not everyone’s cup of tea - but he’s not in the tank for Big Business, which is 3/4 of our problems as a country and as a state.

Big Business DGAF about Louisiana but ppl like Waguespack act like they’ve provided us with so much and kiss their asses relentlessly to no avail. Big business basically pollutes shite, sells our land and O&G interests to China and otherwise use Louisiana as an afterthought and dumping ground.

All that said, by some miracle the governor’s race comes down to Waguespack vs the moron currently in charge of the DOTD - I’m voting for
Waguespack.

I predict, however, if Waguespack
Loses to Landry (which is probable result) that based on the deep seated animosity btwn Graves, Waguespack and the unseemly Landry with the Cajun accent that Waguespack would pull a Dardenne and endorse Shawn Wilson.

Muh True Conservative.

Waguespack is there so Graves can take out Landry. That is all.

I doubt that seriously. He knows what 8 years of JBE has wrought and will not wish to be responsible for a redux.
